Part 4: Exile

Hi guys this is Glenn timithy0. if you guys wondering this story skiped a lot it's because the story haven't reached the present yet. This story is still talking about the main character's memory. Also the new story that i'm working on is already published. It's called 'Slayer'.But don't worry this story will still go on. It's been 3 days since we joined the exile. Tim and tina has already started to work. Tim is guarding the headquarters because his power is his vision. He can see anything from far away and also he can see when it's dark. Tina started to work as a nurse. She had a healing powers. But she can only heal other people. And it takes time for her to heal someone. Me and amrun were assigned in asuka's squad. But we haven't really have a mission. Gordon said to us that they can't take a risk losing a patient. And since our faction is still unknown to government we have to stay low, so we won't take too much attention.

I visited tina to see if she's doing okay with her new job. "Hi Damien!" Tina waved her hand on me. "Well someone's very happy." I said. "It feels good when you can help other people." Said tina. "Are you having problem with other nurses?" I asked. "The people here are so kind. They always offer me food." Said tina. "Good for you." I said. "What brings you here damien?" Asked tina. "I'm killing time, because i have nothing to do. After this i want to visit Tim." I said. "Ok than bye. Say hi to him for me." Said tina. "Bye." I said to tina as i leave her. Tim is guarding outside right now. When i got there i saw tim talking with a girl. I wonder who she is. "Hi Damien. Why are you here?" Tim asked. "I'm here to check you and killing time." I said. "O i'm sorry this girl is a patient too. We are the only one who's guarding outside." Said tim. "It's nice to meet you my name is Claire. I'm patient 14393." She said. "My name is Damien. I'm patient zero." I replied. "Her power is telephaty. Once i realised there is an enemy nearby. Claire will tell everyone with her telephaty power." Said tim. "I see. Well.. don't take this job lightly." I said as i left them. I went in to the headquarter and head to my room.

When i arrived i saw asuka standing in front of the door's room. "Hi damien, we finally have a mission from Gordon." Said Asuka. "Ok where's amrun?" I asked. "He's on a different mission. We should hurry. Get what you need and head to the helicopter." She said. "Ok." I said. I took my bag with me and i don't bring any weapon with me because i'm always using my fist. As i head to the helicopter i used my headphone so that i can still talk with the asuka. Asuka explained what we have to do. Our mission is to destroy the chemical plant on the south. Once we get there we have to steal the data. The data contains their secret facility locations and than destroy the chemical reactor with a time bomb. But because of the data the place was heavily guarded with military soldiers. However there's a chance there will be a scientist. If there's a scientist, there's a patient. This mission will be a stealth mission.

We landed close to the chemical plant,since the pilot is just a normal human, he can't enter the facility or get near to it. Even the soldiers there wear a protective gear so the radiation won't kill the soldiers. But the patients are strong enough without it. When we're on the way to the chemical plant we saw lots of dead animals and trees. The radiation caused so much trouble to the one who's living around it. When we arrived at the chemical plant. We saw a mist around the chemical plant. "Are those mist a radiation?" I asked. "Yeah thats just how dangerous this place is." Asuka said.

We infiltrate the chemical plant and try not to get caught. The soldiers were almost everywhere. Each time the soldiers passed we hide. The plan is to get inside the chemical reactor without getting caught. Because the radiation inside the chemical radiator is too strong for even a protective suit won't be enough for a normal human. Even patients can't enter some area with high level radiation. Thats why i'm the one who will enter deeper to find the computer. I'm the only who's strong enough to enter any area i like. Once i found the computer i will hack the system with the usb that asuka gave me. At the same time asuka will plant the time bomb.

I looked for the computer but it was so hard because of the thick radiation or you can say a mist. And I finally found where the computer is. i quickly pluged the usb in. "Damien.. damien... can you hear me?" Asked asuka from our comunication headphone. "Yes i can hear you." I said. "Did you found the computer?" Asuka asked. "Yeah the usb is hacking in right now." I said. "Good... once the computer is dead, thats our qeue to set the time. You know what to do, don't forget to bring the usb along with you and made it back safely." Said asuka. "Copy that" i said.

We wait and wait, The hacking takes longer than i thought. "Damien... check your radiation scanner. The radiation area is moving!" Said asuka. As i checked my scanner, i saw the radiation area is moving towards her. "What is going on asuka?" I asked. "I don't know, but right now you have to concentrate on your own mission and get out of here." Said asuka. But.. if this keeps up the radiation will trap her. I have to save her, when i saw the computer it's finally dead. That means it's done hacking the computer. I grabed the usb and quickly run towards her.

"Asuka set the time bomb,the usb is done downloading and get out of there." I said. "It's too late, even if you reached here in time you can't get me out. Just get out of here." Said asuka. "NO!" I yelled at her. "Damien this is what war is like..., death always happen around us." Said asuka. When i check my scanners the time bomb was already detonated by asuka, i only have 5 minutes to get out of here. What should i do? Asuka... i will find a way to save you. I quickly run towards the radiation area core. Maybe there is something inside that area. I checked my scanner again and asuka is right next to the radiation area. When i reached the core i saw a boy walking with a collar on his neck walking toward asuka. Is he the one who's responsible for this radiation. A walking radiation? I quickly grabed the boy and grabbed and destroy his collar, than I tossed him away from asuka and he passed out. " What happened? the radiation is gone!" Asked asuka. "I think it was a patient who caused the radiation." I replied. "A patient...? A walking and living radiation?" Asked asuka. "For now you should get out of here asuka before he emits the radiation again. We still don't know if he can't control it or not." I said. "O.. okay..." said asuka.

As i wait for this boy to wake up. He opened his eyes, "What happened?" The boy asked. "You're alright?" I asked. "Yo.. you have to stay away from me! I will end up killing you!" He said. I checked my scanner again and the radiation start to rise up again. "It looks like you are a walking radiation." I said. "Come with me this place is going to blow up." I said. "No." He said. "What are you talking about? If i'm alive i will only kill those around me. Leave me be." He said. "Don't blame yourself for that. Those scientist are the one who create you to be like this." I said. "I'm sorry leave without me." Said the boy. At that time i realised, there's nothing i can do to help him... i keep thinking to find a way to save him. But there is still nothing i can do. "Can i ask who you are? Not your patient name... do you have one...?" I asked. "My name is... drake." He said. "I will always remember your name" i said. "Thank you." as he smiled and cry at the same time. I quickly get out of the chemical reactor. I met asuka at the meeting point. "Where is the boy?" Asked asuka. "He... wanted to die because he said he will only kill more people." I said. Asuka grabed my hand. "You are doing the right thing, this is what he wanted just let it go..." said asuka.

We left the chemical plant and run away as far as we can. I saw the bomb finally exploded and making a mini black hole so the chemical won't fly through the air anymore. We went to the helicopter and fly back the headquarter. As we arrived to the headquarter we told what we discovered in the chemical plant. We got out without anyone spotted us. Gordon got what he wanted, he said to me, "it's okay... there is nothing you can do or we can do, sometimes there is something that we can't do.". After i gave the usb to Gordon, me and asuka went back to our room. "Damien..." asuka called me. "Thank you for not giving up on saving me..." said asuka. "I... killed him didn't i? I am responsible for his death. I'm weak who can't even protect a boy!" I yelled and keep blaming myself. Suddenly asuka hugged me, "it's not your fault that he died. You already tried. If he's still alive his pain will be bigger. You saved him by ending his pain... i'm sure right now, if he's alive he want to thank you for what you did." Said asuka. I'm begining to cry, i... finally have an expresion. my mental breakdown is healed. I know my reason to live is to protect my friends... but now my reason is to protect the innocent and my friends. I want to know if i'm doing the right thing or not... i'm starting to know how war works. This is the group that will find justice. This is exile...
