A powerful storm raged through the port where the Red Scabbards' allies promised to meet them, only it was completely empty. No one was there.
The Scabbards, Momo, and Shinobu stared at the raging waves in stunned disbelief.
Shinobu: Master Kin! We can't do this tonight!
Momo: Let us try another day! Please, Kin'emon!
Kin'emon remained silent.
Raizo: Not a single ship!
Dogstorm: So the Cat didn't make it in time?
Kiku: B-but Udon was neutralized!
Kawamatsu: Yet there wasn't a single person at the excavation camp.
Kanjuro: Where are our 4,000 soldiers?!
Ashura: There are signs that this port was attacked.
Kin stared at his mini-transponder snail.
Kin: The snail is not responding. We cannot contact anyone. It is evening on the day of the Fire Festival, at Tokage Port! This is the promised port! Why is no one here?! Where have they all gone?! What in the world has happened in the span of just a single day?! Has something happened to everyone?!
He started yelling frantically and desperately into the snail. The Scabbards watched his actions with tears in their eyes.
Kin: Sir Luffy, where are you?! Sir Hyogoro, please, come in! Dogstorm's musketeers! Sir Law?! Jibuemon, of Kibi! We are the vassals of Kozuki Oden! We have come 20 years in the past to carry out the wishes of our liege lord! The time has come for us to spend the lives that should have perished back then! <crying> But our lives alone are not enough! The enemy numbers 30,000! We need more help! More help—!
Ashura: <interrupting> Enough, Kin'emon! Just look at the sea and sky! The heavens have turned against us! There will be no help!
Kanjuro: Then...then I can only assume something has happened to them...
Dogstorm looked around the port and found a battered overturned boat. He grabbed it.
Dogstorm: There is a small boat here. We can use it.
Momo: What are you doing, Dogstorm?! Stop this!
His shouts went answered as the Scabbards set up the boat, prepared to continue forward anyway.
Momo: <yelling> Stop this, all of you! This is nothing but suicide! Let us turn back for now, to wait for another chance!
Kin: If we let this opportunity pass, the next will not come for another year! And we cannot stay in hiding any longer than this! Our control over Udon will be revealed momentarily! Kaido will send his entire army to hunt down all of the rebels! There is only so much food that we can steal! Surely you heard about what happened before we left Kuri! The people of Okobore Town, believing in our plan to go into battle, took responsibility for our crimes! The village is burnt to the ground! My wife among them!!
Both Momo and Shinobu were sobbing now.
Kin: Let us do this, Lord Momonosuke! Would you command us to flee and know further shame?!
Momo: Then what happens to me?!
