A short story revolving around lives of three central characters.Vivaan , Ramya and Varna gets connected in a surreal bond unwillingly and unknowingly.Life has it planned for them.Lets look out for them in this journey.
The soft muffled sound of raindrops hitting soil and smell left soothing effect.It was middle of night and everything was calm and quiet.The light was dimmed in room.As Vivaan cooed his daughter holding her preciously in his arms.He still couldnt believe this precious bundle of love was with him now.The baby stirred not being able to sleep.He put forth his best efforts trying to make her sleep.As he walked from one end of room to other slowly making sure Varna wouldnt be disturbed.
Its been three weeks since their daughter was born and two weeks since they came home.Varna was still weak and advised strict bed rest.All were making sure she was taken care of but being mother of new born wasnt easy.He made sure he would let her rest and be with baby at nights.Seeing her bursting into tears as she moved her tiny hands he didnt new what to do.How to make her calm.

She opened her eyes hearing cries of her new born.Her eyes felt heavy being sleep deprived but she opened them and was about to get up.When he saw her.
"Why didnt you wake me.."
V-"I thought you should get some sleep.See.Again I failed to make her calm."
Varna sit properly resting her back with pillow with faint smile on her lips.Every time her husband was whining on why baby wouldnt stop crying when he is trying his best.No one would say seeing him if he was already father of one.
He sulked and handed her baby carefully.As if little one knew she is with her mother.Her touch as she kissed her babys head.It hid her face in her shoulder.Varna looked at Vivaan and tried to hide her smile.
V-"You love doing that.dont you?"
Var-"Vivaan.Dont make that face.you are father of two now.As if you dont know.Why she is crying.Its her feeding time."
She shake her head and settled her baby carefully on her lap.Vivaan switched on bedside lamp and came to settled beside her.Making sure she was in comfortable position.Varna felt sudden heat rising on her cheeks.While he stayed there with glint in his eyes trying to study his baby.
Its been few weeks she became mother and lot of physical changes were taking place.One of most beautiful feelings was feeding her baby.It is not something easy for a mother but it is a feeling noone can explain.From first time in hospital she started doing it till now.Every time she feels blessed and more connected to her baby.
V-"You need help?"
As he whispered in his deep voice it gave her goosebumps.He could see on her face how shyness was there.She was slowly getting used to this feeling but being around Vivaan.she still felt shy.It was not discomfort or uneasiness.It was as if his eyes made her weak.
Var-"Vivaan.Do I need to tell you this every time.Please."
V-"What?"
She patted baby and as her fingers touched button of her gown.He could see him sitting there unnerved.He touched babys fingers and kissed them.
V-"You waited so long to embrace this feeling Varna.We waited.Dont I deserve right to be part of this moment.I dont want to keep any regret.Of missing out anything that belongs to us.Whats there to feel shy or hide from me.This moment is all about embracing."
She was so touched by this mans words that like every time he would convince her.From heart and she was left teary eyed.He wiped that seeing glow on her face.
As she started feeding baby it was new for her.But he was there sitting with her trying to make her comfortable in all ways.And she knew about it.Seeing pain on her face he asked her through eyes if she was fine.She gave nod and smiled.He held baby finger and kept kissing after playing with them.They were so soft and her feet too.
Varna always admired him as father ever since she has seen him with Pranush.But she didnt knew how Vivaan would be so excited when they have daughter.It was as if he became father first time.She remembered how for one week she was in hospital and Vivaan and Pranush wont left her whole day.Pranush playing with his little sister.Ever since he saw her first time his excitement was on new level.He wanted to hold her and play with her asking when they will take her home.
She buttoned up her dress and looked at her husband now putting their daughter to sleep.This was best time seeing him adoring their baby.She remembers how she held little Pranush.He was few days old when she had him on her lap.She touched him and hugged him.Time flies they say.
Baby was sleeping in crib close to their bed and Vivaan joined her on bed.
V-"Where are you lost."
Var-"Pranu was just like her.So small and precious.When I touched him first time I didnt knew babies are so soft.It was feeling I.Cant explain."
V-"I know.H is growing up now.feels like yesterday.Now whole day he is busy protecting his sisiter not moving an inch from here."
Var-"Vivaan.Pranu doesnt come to me.Much now."
He could see change of expressions on her face.Knew reason well.
Var-"You think Im a good mother?I.Im not able to take care of him.Whatif he thinks Im bad mother and."
V-"Varna stop.Why are you even thinking all these?You just gave birth to baby and you need rest.We all are here to take care of Pranu.You are here too.Just few days then everything will fall in place."
Var-"What if I fail to take care of both of them.I.I never thought about this.Pranu will hate me?"
She started crying and he knew this was happening from time they came home.First time holding their baby in hospital she asked him about Pranush.She kept her close to him even though all asked her to rest.She was feeling guilty for not being able to be with him.When they came home her eyes were looking for him.But Pranush being kid wasnt used to stay away from her mother.He was excited seeing little baby.But not finding Varna with him few days he was upset.Everyone tried to make him understand Varna needs to be with little baby but what will little kid understand and how much.Karuna was helping Varna with baby whole daywhile Shivani was taking care of Pranush.
Vivaan rubbed her back and took her in hug.Having look at their baby sleeping peacefully in crib he then shut his eyes.Placing kiss on her head.He made her face him wiping her tears.He could understand well it wasnt easy for Varna being mother.
V-"Look at me.Varna.You have been best mother to Pranu.You think anyone can ever doubt that?Hes a baby.Give him some time.Till you are advised complete bed rest.He is with you only right."
Var-"But doesnt come to me.All told him to not come near me.why would they do that."
Other day when Pranush came to sleep with Varna.Karuna tried to make him understandshe needs rest and then it was feeding time for baby.All this made little one sad and he was missing his mother.He doesnt understand this much at all.
V-"You will be fine in few days.Then you can take care of both of our babies.Till then Im here.Dont you trust me?"
She gave nod but mothers heart can never be satisfied.She missed sleeping at nights keeping Pranush with them.Her fear of him going awayfrom her was making her uneasy.Vivaan patted her to sleep and fatigue took over her.Vivaan shut his eyes in hope that they will come over this period too.
