My Boss

Chapter 4

"Good afternoon, madam" the blond few inches taller girl from me stood at the reception. Her eyes were dark brown, almost black. She had a short cut hair, brushing her naked shoulders. Her hair was tucked behind her right ear. Her make-up was natural, and she was wearing leather red dress. Her smile was welcoming and warm.

I came near her and smiled back. "Good afternoon" it came out more like a whisper out of my lungs and she chuckled and look back at her computer.

"What can I do for you?" her voice was calming, almost like you were talking to the angel. She looked so good, which did not surprise me, as she was working for the most handsome man in Chicago.

"I'm here for job interview. I'm a bit late, I should be here at 9am" she nodded her head and took the phone that was next to my elbow, which was laying on the court.

"I should see if Mr. Lynch wants to see you. Can I have you name?" I nodded and watched how her fingers tip in two numbers. "Laura, Laura Marano" I was whispering again, and she nodded as we both wait until the phone was picked up on the other side.

"Hey Rebecca, Olivia here. I have miss Marano here at the reception for the job interview..." she shut up and started to nod her hair, as she was listening to Rebecca. "Yes, I understand"

She said and put the phone down. Her dark brown eyes were looking at me again, as she looked at me from head to toes.

"Mr. Lynch will see you. You need to go to the top floor and up there you will be greeted by Claire" I nodded and turn around making my way to the elevator.

I pressed the button and the elevator doors immediately opened. I walked in and saw the 20th floor button. I pressed it and watched Olivia as the doors were closing. Her kind smile greeted me again and I shyly smiled back.

My empty burning lungs and my heart hitting my chest so hard I thought it will break my ribs and rip apart my skin. My legs were shaking as I lean on the mirror opposite from the door. I closed my eyes trying to calm myself down, but I could barely breath.

The elevator beeped, making me to open my eyes and sighed. "You can do this Laura" I whispered to myself, and elevator door opened.

I front of me stood tall girl, again with blond hair, that at the end was almost brown. She had blue eyes that from far looked grey. She was a bit older than a girl at the reception, but here smile was the prettiest smile I ever seen.

"Hello, miss Marano, I'm Claire" her Australian accent was a melody for the ears. I smiled back and she gave me her hand to shake it.

"Nice to meet you. Please just Laura, I'm not used to that miss" she chuckled and pulled her hand away.

"Get used to it..." I nodded and gulped down the saliva. She started to move toward darkened double doors, and I followed close behind.

"Mr. Lynch will see you now" she opened the door for me, and I nodded my head toward her. I slowly started to move toward the room, keeping my head down.

I took in a deep breath and slowly look up taking in how beautiful the room was. The walls were light grey color, on my left there was a black couch in front the couch there was a white carpet with the shiny black coffee table on it. Next to the couch were white door and I assumed was a bathroom. In the middle of the office was a white table with the black leather chair behind it. On the table was just a lamp and few papers.

Behind the chair stood the tall man in the black suit and blond hair. He had his hands in his pants pockets, and he was looking down at the city toward the large windows.

I cleared my throat and the man that was showing me his back turn around and my heart started to pound.

My palms become sweaty. I tried to keep my calm as my eyes met with Ross's form. He looked calm and a little surprised. He looked at me from head to toes and tentative smile was placed on his lips.

"So, you are my new secretary miss Marano"
