Chapter 12

"What are you doing tonight?"

"Nothing my brother is here and aunt came yesterday" Ashley groaned in the phone.

"Come to the bar with me"

"I have to work tomorrow. I can't"

"Oh come on Laura" she wailed into the phone and I sighed.

"Fine" I agreed and she screamed.

"Yes fucking yes. I will pick you up in 30 minutes" she hung up and I sighed again and got up from the bed.

I looked toward my closet and found a pretty short black dress hanging on the hanger. I pulled it out and made my way toward a bathroom.

I washed my face and my teeth. I slowly pressed on my reddish cheek that was still hurting and looked at the bruises around my neck that were darker than they were that morning.

I grabbed a eyeshadow palette and the brush and applied some on my eyes. I drew an eyeliner and grabbed the powder and applied two layers on my neck and cheek to cover my bruises. I finished my make up with red lipstick.

My hair was curled and I just let it out of the ponytail. I dressed up and took my purse from the bed. I putted in a condom for Ashley, she always needed that and grabbed my lipstick, wallet and my phone.

As I entered the living room Jack was sitting on the couch watching football and eating popcorn.

"Where is aunt Jenna?"

"She went out with some friends. I don't know I didn't listen what she was saying" he answered without bothering to look at me.

"Isn't uncle supposed to come today?" I asked again and searched for my keys.

"He will come tomorrow. Something about work. Come on stop bothering me" I stood in front of the television and he started to move his head left and right, before stopping to look at me.

"Um why are you so dressed up?" he asked as getting up.

"I'm going to the bar with Ashley. She kept bothering me until I said yes" he chuckled and shook his head.

"Ashley no way. She isn't like that" he laughed and I slept his shoulder.

"Shut up! But did you see my keys?" I asked and he rolled his eyes before sitting back on the couch.

"This is the second time today woman. Watch were are you leaving you stuff" I hit him again and he yelped.

"Ouch that hurt" I rolled my eyes this time and found my keys on the chest of drawers.

"Wanna join us?" he laughed and shook his head. "No way and to miss football. Go have fun and find someone."

He winked and I hit him again and grabbed the perfume from my purse and applied it on my neck and hair.

"Good night Jack. Have fun watching your stupid football."

"You too sis. Break a leg" he smiled again and I wanted to throw my heel at him.

As I got outside Ashley car was already parked. I ran toward her car as the rain was pouring from the sky. She unlocked the doors and I sat in immediately as wiping down the drops.

"Hey girl!" she yelled and pulled me into a hug. "How is it? How's Andrew? Are you pregnant yet? Fill me in" I sighed and pulled away from her hug.

"You don't know do ya?" she shook her head and pulled out from my parking lot. I filled her in about my life this couple 3 days and she just sat there shook not saying a word.
