~JULIET~

More lightning rips across the sky. I scream. "Charlie? What are we going to do?" I yell frantically. He is bleating rapidly and anxiously, I lose all hope of his help. This is up to me. "Hey! Sky! You know what? I'm tired of your little games. Do you even care about all of the homes, the families, and communities you are wrecking right now?!? Minnesota doesn't want you wrecking their trips to the supermarket, or walks in the park, or family picnics. Just because you feel like you have to blow us out of the clouds, doesn't mean you have to take it out on poor Minnesota or other places for that matter. Why don't you stop being a coward and come face us yourself!" I yell. I admit, it wasn't the best thing for me to call the evil sky a coward but I got angry.

Even though I don't know any of the Minnesotans down there, I feel like I have to protect them, to love them. And I don't want anyone messing with any of them. No matter how powerful.

"Did you just call me a coward?!?" A voice bellows from above. The wind dies down and the thunder stops, but the anger in his voice sends a clear message: they may be safe, but you aren't. "Actually I did! I want you to leave my friends and I alone! Haven't you done enough damage already?!?" I yell back. "You can't charmspeak me, girl! I'm. A. God! No one can outsmart, outbeat, or get the best of me. I'm not just a God. I'm THE God! The almighty God, ZEUS!"

'Charmspeak?' I think. I look over at Charlie but he's still going CRAZYTOWN-GOAT on us. I roll my eyes. "All I want is to save innocent civilians so that they can live full lives without being sent to the Underworld for something that you caused." I rack my brain for all the Greek mythology I know and suddenly it hits me. I smile. "You know, every time that you cause a death, every soul gives your brother..." ('Zeus, Poseidon, and...') I think. I snap my fingers. "-Hades more power. I can only imagine how many souls can bring so much power to one God, but all that power has to go somewhere, right? I wouldn't want to send him too much, only with none for you to gain. Who knows what 3 souls and a satyr could do. Especially Demigod souls. That would be a whole lot of power. We wouldn't want The Almighty Zeus to get... Replaced. Do we?" I say putting as much power in my voice as possible.

Thunder rumbles. I can't help but smile. We did it. I did it. I've never felt so powerful. Never been outsmarted my butt! He just got outsmarted. "Now. Let. Us. Pass." I demand. The sky goes silent and still. Every cloud clears up and even a rainbow has made it's way into the scene. Charlie finally relaxes. Cassie and Aspen are staring at me in awe. I flip my hair and smile. They laugh. "All in a day's work," I say. They sigh. I do too. We may have bested Zeus, but we aren't safe yet. Two more states and a small part of Canada is still ahead until New York. I rub my Pegasus' neck to calm him down. Soon all the Pegasi are calm and cared for, and we start flying again.

We're out of Minnesota and Wisconsin in no time and we decide to take a pit stop in Michigan. We've been flying for hours and I've got to say, I'm very sore. The horses are exhausted too. We can't spend the night because we've still got no time to lose but no one can go any longer. We tie up the Pegasi and give them some hay to munch on. Then we all crash down on a sidewalk bench. "I'm exausted!" Aspen sighs. "Me too." Cassie says. "Eh." I say. They look at me like I'm crazy. "You have clearly never been to a karate practice. But I'll admit it's been a long day!" Then finally Charlie speaks again, "I'll say, you are all taking this very well, considering you just called Zeus, Evil SKY." We laugh. "But you don't even know half of what's going on and you've already taken on the task of defending your guide. I'm so hopeless." I walk over to him and say, "Look at me, Charlie. We look to you for guidance even if you don't feel like you're important, we wouldn't be here without you. We trusted you that first day, wow that was today, because in our hearts we knew that you were a good satyr and wouldn't harm us in any way. You are truly the best protector ever!" The others nod enthusiastically. "I'm glad you're not too disappointed in me but I must say again how proud I am of you three, Juliet for sticking up for yourself and others and being creative with ideas. And you Cassia by being brave and a great leader. And Aspen, you... Um... You have been calm and easy going throughout this experience to help us keep going. Like a cheerleader." We all gasp at that statement. Charlie just made a huge mistake. So many insults. Aspen suddenly gets over her shock and a single tear falls down her cheek, followed by several. I go up and hug her. "Awww, don't worry honey it'll be alright." I say trying to comfort her. I glare daggers at Charlie. He looks so confused. By now she's balling. Poor girl. She already has a problem with loneliness and not being the best at anything. All she wants is to feel special and wanted. She's got 2 step- sisters and a dad who hates her, and step- mom who thinks she's a freak. "Don't worry, he didn't mean it." I try to comfort her. Cassie kicks him in the shin. "Owww-Ohhh yah, I'm sorry Aspen I didn't mean it. You have great things ahead of you. And just think, you've got a mom that's watching you right now and is proud of you. She wouldn't want to see you crying now would she?" Charlie recovers. I smile, relieved. "But... But my mom's dead," Aspen sniffles. "I promise you, your mom is certainly not dead." He says. She looks confused. She turns to Cassie, "What's a Demigod?' She asks.
