Artemis' P.O.V
I studied the map intently, occasionally pinpointing special landmarks.
'Artemis, help!' I heard Percy shout in the mind link.
'What is it?' I thought back. He showed me a picture through the mind link. I froze in shock. It's the python, It's back.
'Hold on, I'm coming.' I thought and ran outside, weapons in hand. Thalia gave me a questioning look.
"There's a monster." I said and carried on running to where Percy was. I got there just in time. He was in human form, Riptide in hand. He dodged the Python's strikes with amazing agility. It hissed and struck again but Percy was behind it, slashing at its scales. He turned into a wolf and leaped away just in time. It wailed in outrage and lashed out in blind fury.
'No!' I shouted in the mind link as I saw it hit Percy. He was thrown back a few metres and he hit a tree with a loud thud. He tried to get to his feet but yelped in pain and collapsed. The Python slowly slithered towards Percy, hissing in anticipation. It raised its head, ready to strike Percy. I knew it would be the killing blow. I knocked an arrow in my bow and after a second of aim, I fired. It shrieked in pain as a silver tipped arrow was embedded in its eye. It turned to me.
"Artemissss." It hissed.
"Hello my foe." I said and unsheathed my daggers.
"Hi." A cheerful voice said to my right. I nearly broke my neck as I whipped my head to see the person.
"Apollo." The python hissed again.
"What the Hades are you doing here?!" I demanded at my grinning brother.
"Oh please, don't you think I would want to help defeat my mortal enemy?" He asked.
"This would make an amazing Haiku." He cleared his voice, "I have defeated,
The mighty python,
All by myself,
I am so awesome." I rolled my eyes.
"That sucked." I muttered.
"Hey!" He protested. The Python struck at us but we jumped away. "Shall we?"
"Yes we shall."
