The New Kou On The Block

"MAKE WAY!" I shout to all of the people still lingering in the hallways as I storm through. "MOVE OR GET RUN OVER, DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN ANY OF YOU!"

My English classroom isn't that far away from the front doors of the school so in theory I should be back with three minutes to spare. Then again, that's a theory. The best way to deal with this is to run as fast as possible and then avoid two weeks of torture from Reiji.

I slow down as I reach the doors of the classroom and then make my way to my desk. As I duck my head underneath I see that my plan is exactly where I left it, taped underneath the desk.

"Thank God, they got some new desks otherwise this would've been loaded with gum." I smile to myself as I remove the piece of paper and put it into one of my blazer pockets. I check my watch. "Four minutes left to spare. Suck on that, Reiji." I chuckle as I casually walk my way out...Only to feel someone grab my waist and pull me back in again.

"HE-!" I start to yell only for a hand to cover my mouth.

"Shh, I'm not going to hurt you or anything. I just need you to do a favour for me." A voice whispers in my ear. "If I let go, are you going to scream?"

I shake my head, I'm not going to scream. He's going to be the one screaming if he tries anything.

He slowly, cautiously, releases me and I turn around to see him face to face.

He's effing gorgeous. Stop it, Eliza!

But there's no denying it. God blessed him with a beautiful face framed by blonde curly locks. His bangs are kept away from covering his beauty by a hairtie so that they're slightly covering the right of his bright blue eyes. He has piercings in both of his ears and a friendly smile on his lips.

Basically he looks like a modern fairy-tale Prince Charming.

Snap out of it!

"So, before I do this favour, mind if I ask who you are?" I ask him, trying to be casual. "I haven't seen you around here before."

"Me and my brothers transferred today. My name's Kou Mukami." He introduces.

"Well, nice to meet you, Kou. I'm Eliza Lampton." I give a bow at my introduction. I've learnt the hard way that people in Japan don't really do handshakes like back in England. "Now that we've got that out of the way, what's this favour?" I ask.

"Where did he go?"

"I was sure he came this way!"

"Don't tell me we've lost him!"

An array of voices are heard outside the door.

"Crap, they found me." He remarks in a whisper. "Girls are crazy."

"You want me to steer them away for you?" I offer quietly.

"Can you?" He asks.

"Leave them to me." I reassure as I lead him to hide behind the door and I walk out.

"Have you seen or heard Kou Mukami anywhere?" One of three girls ask me.

"Sorry, it might not have been him, but I heard someone running probably that way." I lie as I point to the door leading to the back and sports field. "If he was trying to get away or something I'd say he was probably trying to hide in the science block." Which is also at the back.

"Thank you so much!" They all say in unison before they hustle on a wild goose chase.

"They're gone!" I announce before Kou walks out into the hallway.

"Thank you so much! You probably just saved my life!" He sighs in relief.

"You can't fight off three fangirls?" I tease with a smile.

"You'd be surprised how strong some of them can be." He laughs. "Really, Eliza, thank you."

"Aww, don't worry about it. I just wish I had a camera to film them running about like idiots."

"You're a great girl! You should meet my brothers!" He offers.

I almost accept when I remember the promise I made to Reiji. I quickly check my watch once more. Two minutes left.

"I'd really love to, but my ride is out front and the people I live with are obsessed with keeping on time." I say, hoping I don't offend him.

"I understand, don't worry about it. Some other time, maybe?" He suggests.

"I'd like that." I smile. "Hopefully your brothers as cool as you."

He gives a dazzling smile. "You think I'm cool?"

"Don't get ahead of yourself." I warn. "I better get going. See ya, Kou." I give a small wave before I rush off back to the limo.

He seems nice. I think to myself. But it's not like we can get close or anything with my situation.

I scramble into the limo, slam the door behind me, and breathlessly take my seat next to Ayato.

"Ten seconds to spare." Reiji declares as he closes a pocket watch.

"Reiji, darling, it sounds as if you doubted me." I say in a sickly sweet voice.

He gives me a glare. "Nevertheless, we need to be going home. Drive on." He commands the driver and we start our journey back to the mansion.

Hmm, the Mukami brothers.

I think about opening my mouth to ask the brothers whether they've heard of them, but then I remember.

Knowing them they'll start getting all jealous and I'll be sucked dry if I tell them.

Yes, it's best if I kept the Mukami's a secret for now. Especially if I need to start the survival game again.
