Summer's Point Of View
I was so excited for Ashton and his siblings to come over! So was James because he got up at nine in the morning to make me breakfast in bed.
We ate the food really slowly, and played cards for a while. I randomly glanced around the room we were currently sharing, and the clock on the wall caught my eyes. 11.45.
"Oh god" I said and got out of bed quickly. James understood why I was rushing so much, and told me he'd carry the dishes back to the kitchen. I got a pair of light grey sweatpants and a tank top on, and put my hair up in a bun before walking to the bathroom to clean my face.
Then I walked down to help James clean up in the kitchen.
The knock on the door made James run to it and open it excitedly. He started talking to Ashton, and soon to someone else. When I saw him in the doorway, I smiled.
"Hello" I told all of them, but Ashton didn't answer like his brother and sister did. He just looked at me.
"Hi, My name is summer, and this is my little brother James" I told the two kids on Ashton's left side. They told me their names, Harry and Lauren, and I invited them inside our completely undone house.
"You've got to excuse us for the mess, and lack of furniture, but we've just moved in, on Wednesday," I told them all, and they looked around.
"Dad ordered all the furniture we need last night, and they're delivering it here today around six in the evening," I told Ashton while the two boys had already started talking about some action figures.
"So, we've got to go figure out what paint we want on our bedroom walls," I continued, and looked over at Lauren, who was also listening to me.
"Okay, let me drive you," Ashton smiled.
"You drive?" I asked surprised, but relieved. I didn't feel like I could afford the bus fares for much longer.
"Yeah, I do," he smiled. We decided to go straight away, so I called for the boys and we left for the store.
James and I had to choose our bedroom colours, so I made it easier by explaining to him what his choices were. Mine would be white with some wallpaper on one of the walls, and dads would be light beige.
We headed to the large walls with all the colour cards on them, and I showed him what he could have. Both blues, greens, yellows, browns. Everything was there.
There was also wallpaper, and I could tell James had a really hard time deciding what he wanted, so I said,
"hey James, we don't have to decide anything yet. Let's go back here tomorrow when you see a little more what mine and dads rooms will be like." He agreed, and we started looking at paint for my dad, and luckily I found about the accurate wallpaper I wanted.
We headed home, Ashton's car full of people, paint, paint rolls, floor covers, and basically everything we needed. I also had to call both electricians, tilers, plumbers, and someone to help us put the wallpaper on the wall. Ashton and I picked out the best ones for the jobs while the boys were playing with some of James' toys, and Lauren was on her phone.
