We met Castiel to go on the case away from my house the next day. Ruby had the wrong place and the demon wasn't there. We were back at square one. I went into my room and tossed my shotgun onto the bed.
"Did you get it?" Ruby asked from the doorway.
"You had the wrong place." I informed her. When I was turning to look at her, a piece of paper on my desk caught my eye.
"Sorry. I did everything you told me to." She apologized.
"No, no its not your fault, Ruby. We'll find it." I told her. "Go do.. something you normally do." She left and I picked up the paper.
Leave the case or take the price.
Was all it said. I looked on it for traces of sulfur or ectoplasm or anything supernatural, but couldn't find any.
"What did you find?" Sam asked, walking into the room. I shoved it into my pocket.
"Just an old postcard." I smiled. We had all had a long day from trying to track the demon and decided to go to bed.
"Danny? Danny, wake up. Please." Someone nudged me awake. I lazily opened my eyes and saw Ruby. Startled and realizing I was in my bra and panties, I pulled the covers up over myself quickly. Ruby sniffled.
"Is something wrong?" I asked her.
"I heard something, and when I went to see what it was I smelled sulfur coming from mom and dads room." She whispered. Dean's hand ventured down towards my bikini line and I pushed his arm off of me, waking him up.
"What's going on?" He asked, sitting up before seeing my sister and searching for his shirt.
"I'll go check on them, okay? Stay here with Dean. I'll be right back." I instructed her and grabbed my gun from under the bed. I ran down the hall to my parents room and sure enough, I could smell it. I braced myself and opened the door. Our demon was above my parents bed, and they were still fucking sleeping.
"Hey jackass!" I yelled. It looked at me and I shot it with rock salt. Sadly, waking up both of my parents. The demon left.
"Danny, what the hell?!" My dad screamed.
"There was a fucking demon there! You know what, that's it, I'm making this hallowed ground." I yelled back. I knew they wouldn't understand what I had just said. I went back to my bag and grabbed my salt, tossing some to Dean and Ruby and telling them what to do with it.
"This is going to take forever to clean! Knock it off!" My mom screeched at me, knocking the salt out of my hands.
"God damn it! You are going to die if you don't just trust me!" I argued with her. We started a heated argument that eventually drew Sam upstairs.
"Get the hell out of my house then!" My mom yelled.
"Fine!" I screamed and went into my room, grabbing my things and packing Dean's.
"Danny, she just doesn't understand." Dean tried soothing me.
"We're leaving. Now. Get Sam's stuff and lets go." I growled at him as I pulled on shorts and a tank top. We took our bags out to the car and left, going to the nearest motel. I threw my bag across the room and went to sleep.
The next morning I woke up when I felt Dean lay on the bed beside me and brush the hair out of my face. I kept my eyes closed and took a deep breath. His lips pressed lightly onto my forehead.
"Beautiful, time to get up." He murmured. I buried my face in the pillow. "Come on, baby. We have work to do."
"Is Sam gone?" I asked.
"How'd you guess?"
"You would never say that to me if he was here." I replied and sat up, wiping at the smeared makeup from yesterday still on my face. I'm sure I look fucking fantastic. After a shower and new makeup I was ready to go. Dean grabbed my hand and led me to the impala. We got in and were about to leave when I saw a red VW bug outside the office.
"Wait." I blurted out. Dean slammed the brakes and I watched as my little sister ran up to the impala. I rolled down the window.
"Unlock the doors?" She asked Dean, and he listened.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I questioned as she got in.
"Going with you." She stated simply. A cheery tone in her voice.
"Fuck no."
"Danny! What's the worst that can happen?"
"You could die!" I yelled at her. "You're not going to be a hunter!"
"I could be!" She screamed back.
"You wont be! Because I won't let you!" I was seething. Why does she think its okay for her to hunt?
"You get to hunt, why can't I?" She yelled.
"Because I didn't have a huge fucking choice. You don't have to hunt, and you shouldn't. You're not going to be a hunter, and that's fucking final!" I screamed as loud as I could. She sat back in her seat and crossed her arms over her chest, looking out the window.
"At least let me come on one hunt." She begged, her voice cracking and her eyes not looking at me. I sighed and turned back around.
"Let's go, Dean. Ruby and I will check the warehouse while you go to the church." I told him. He nodded and put Baby in drive, dropping us off before leaving and promising to be back in an hour. I handed Ruby a pistol.
"Do you know how to use that?" I asked her as she looked at it carefully.
"Duh. I'm not stupid."
"I wonder sometimes. Alright, put this on and don't take it off." I instructed her, taking the anti-possession ring I had off of my ring finger and giving it to her.
"Can't you get possessed now, though?" She questioned.
"I have a tattoo that prevents it. Just keep it on." She shoved it on her finger and we went inside. As soon as I turned around to see where she was, she was gone.
"Ruby? Ruby!" I yelled for her. She can't be gone already. Did she ditch me? That little bitch is going to get her ass kicked. "Ruby, answer me!" I screamed. I heard a thump in the kitchen of the abandoned house and ran in there. Ruby was tied to a chair, but had no visible marks on her. Yet. I ran toward her and she was trying to talk to me, but couldn't with a rag in her mouth. Something hit me in the back of the head before I could reach her and knocked me out.
When I woke up, I was tied to a chair. Ruby was on the other side of the room from me.
"Ruby, are you okay?" I asked. She nodded. I pulled on my arms and legs, trying to free them.
"That won't do you any good, Winchester." A girl said in front of me. It was our demon, inside a vessel.
"I'm not a Winchester, bitch." I spat at her. She pistol whipped me and grabbed my face, forcing me to look at her.
"You should show some respect to me. I was nice enough to warn you to leave. I can take everything from you." She sneered. An old rag was forced into my mouth before she turned to Ruby and began ripping her apart. I fought against my ropes as she screamed. She can't die, my sister can't die. Not like this. She's not supposed to experience this.
"Take me!" I screamed in my mind. The demon must've heard me because she stopped and moved over to me. The rag was taken out of my mouth.
"You really want me to kill you?" She asked. I nodded.
"If you leave her alone."
"I'm surprised. You have some things in store for you. To kill you now would ruin the fun later." She laughed. She grabbed my stomach and dug her nails into it, drawing blood. "I could just take this from you." She offered.
"Take what?" I breathed, realizing what she'd just hinted at. There's no way.
"Your first born, dumbass. I would love to get a hold of a Winchester baby."
"I'm not pregnant." I growled.
"Maybe not yet. You have a destiny laid out for you, though. But if you'd rather just die and leave me here to go after Dean..."
"You don't know shit about my destiny!" I screamed. Her nails dug deeper into my stomach, it was getting hard to breathe. She put her other hand on my forehead.
"Its your fault he died. Ryan didn't want you to kill him. You could've exorcised him. He was begging you not to do it." She said in a low voice. I tried to look away from her but couldn't.
"You didn't have to stab Ryan, but you wanted to. I could hear him asking you to stop." She continued. I shut my eyes and tried to block her out. "And now I'm going to take Ruby, too."
"Hey, assbutt!" Cas yelled from behind her. I heard a shot go off and felt sticky blood spatter on my face, but not before a black cloud left the body. I let my head roll back and tried to breathe. Its okay.
"Danny, you okay?" Dean's voice said from in front of me. My breathing felt shallow. "Answer me, sweetheart." He said.
"Where's Ruby?" I asked weakly. I'm okay enough, but she tore into Ruby really bad.
"Sammy's got her. We're getting you to the hotel, okay? Let's get you patched up." He said as he put my arm around his shoulder, pulling me to the impala. We went back to the hotel and he stitched us up. The wounds all in all weren't that bad.
"I just got a call from one of our witnesses, her missing neighbor is back with a baby, but her eyes are blacked out." Sam said after we had rested for a few hours.
"Let's go. Drop Ruby off on the way." I said, getting up.
"Danny, you really think that's a good idea? You were just almost killed by this thing." Dean argued lightly. I nodded and walked out, feeling myself limp. We stopped by my house.
"I hope you changed your mind about being a hunter, or I will find you and kick your ass." I told her. She nodded and left. My parents might give me an angry phone call later, but at least she's alive.
We ended up in the house of our newest vessel. We picked the lock and got in. I signaled to Dean that I was going upstairs and he went in front of me. Sam was lookout. There was only one closed door up there. A small slit between the door and the wall was just big enough for me to look inside. The lady we were after was standing right there. Dean nodded to me and put his hand on the doorknob. One more shot of rocksalt and holy water and this demon should be gone. He was about to open it when I heard a cooing sound.
"Dean, stop!" But it was too late. I tackled him to the ground just as his finger squeezed the trigger. I heard two bodies other than ours hit the ground. Scrambling up, I rushed over to where the lady was laying lifeless. The demon was gone, thankfully. Then I turned my attention to the baby she had been holding.
"Danny, step back." I heard a pistol cock behind me. The baby coughed a few times and started crying.
"Dean Winchester, put your fucking gun away before I shoot you my damn self." I snapped at him, picking up the baby.
"It could be a demon, or something!" Dean argued. I pressed the baby into my chest and looked around for a diaper bag, ignoring him. When I found one I shoved it full of clothes and diapers and stuffed animals and threw it over my other shoulder.
"Come on, we're getting the car seat." I stated and pushed past him out of the room. The baby was still crying. When I opened the door and stepped out Sam seemed shocked.
"Carry this." I demanded, shoving the diaper bag at him. I went to the lady's car before they could say anything and opened it, pulling the seat out and handing it to Dean.
"Danny, you're taking that thing with us?" I heard Dean question as he took the car seat.
"Its a baby, and his name is Aiden. It was on his wall. Suck it up. We can turn him over to the cops in a few days." I argued. He huffed and did as told. I calmed Aiden down and put him in the car seat before we went back to the hotel.

I woke up hearing a baby cry on the bed next to me. I had kicked Dean onto the chair in the corner of the room to keep Aiden close. He was a generally calm baby, but must not be very old because he cries a lot. I picked him up and groaned.
"You're hungry again?" I asked him, knowing he couldn't respond. Dean walked over to me from the kitchenette and handed me a bottle.
"Here, warm." He said as I took it. I tested it and gave it to Aiden. Dean decided to sit down next to me. "You're really good with him." He stated.
"Huh, did I ever say I didn't want kids? I just, they're hard." I sighed. Kids were something I always seemed to struggle with. I don't know why they were, but they were.
"You're doing fine right now." He reminded me.
"Yeah, well we're leaving him at the police station first thing tomorrow. We need to get back to Kansas."
"You really don't want kids?" He asked. I shook my head. Especially not after what that demon said, about everything. I had to push what was said out of my mind and focus on Aiden. He finished his bottle and fell back asleep.
