Chapter 2: The Deal
The place was just like your typical amusement park. The humongous rides, the concession stands, the mini games stands, clowns, shows, and people standing in the middle of the place selling balloons.
"You can all split up, but be sure to come back at this exact spot by 7:30 in the evening, okay?" Joseph said, and they all nodded. He gave them their well-earned money -which they earned from their concerts- and he left.
Tito quickly pulled Marlon with him as they headed for the bump cars. Jermaine went ahead, trying to look for some girl to hang out with, while Jackie, Michael, and Autumn were left.
"What should we do?" Michael asked.
"Let's ride that," Autumn said, pointing to a very large rollercoaster with zigzag turns and humongous loops.
"No way am I riding that!" Jackie exclaimed. "I'm gonna find something else to do now, you guys have fun," He quickly said as he jogged away. They both laughed at his fear.
"Are you game on with this?" She asked, after regaining herself from laughter.
"Sure," Michael said excitingly. He quickly went to the ticket booth and paid for 2 tickets. Autumn was about ro protest to Michael that she could have bought her own ticket, when it was already their turn. They raced to the very front seat and sat down quickly.
The ride started slowly, but the coaster started to pick up speed as it started going through the zigzags, the upside-downs, and the multiple loops. Loud screams were produced by the people as they have to go through that. The screams of the people were of fear, but Michael and Autumn's weren't. Theirs were of excitement.
When the ride stopped, they saw some people shivering and shaking, some even vomitting, and heard someone screaming, "Where's my shoe?!" loudly. But all they did was laugh. They had only one ride, and they pretty much already enjoyed it.
"I finally got to ride that coaster," Autumn exclaimed, still laughing.
"You live here, and you haven't ridden that before?"
"Last time I was here was last year with my mom, and she wouldn't allow me to ride it. But now she left us kids alone, so yeah." She chuckled.
They started walking around, and some people even recognized Michael as "the cute kid from the Jackson 5." They asked for pictures and autographs. Some started chasing him, and at that, Michael had to run away. With Autumn, of course. Some even asked if they were together, but he kindly said no.
They saw a man with ragged, torn clothes holding balloons. He was very thin that his bones can actually be seen. He looked like he hasn't eaten for days. His arms, legs, and face were covered in black smudges, which were probably mud.
They both looked sympathetically at him as the other people were passing by him, some even giving him disgusted looks. After a while of standing, the man sat down by a corner, probably tired, and still holding the balloons.
They went near the man, and he stared at them wide-eyed. Now that they were closer, they can also see bruises and cuts on his face.
"Please..." He croaked. "Don't hurt me." Autumn only crouched down beside him, and Michael did the same.
"We wouldn't do that," She smiled brightly. " We just want to help."
"Who did these to you?" Michael asked the man, frowning.
"Some kids your age. They tried to take my money, but I refused. So they beat me up and stole the money I earned," He said softly. Sadness filled the teens' faces as they realized what this man had to go through. But he wasn't finished.
