Vivian's POV

I was a shape shifter. Always in fear of hunters, avoiding small town's, or anywhere that had supernatural issues. I never took any identity of anyone who lived anywhere near me. I found my new faces by taking what I like about someones face or body and creating a body. I never hurt anyone, I never stole an identity, but I still lived in fear that a hunter would find me.

I had just had to move. I heard whispers that a pair of hunters was headed my way, and I had quickly left town. I changed my names, changed my appearance, and as far as anyone knew, my old identity, Nova Monroe, a veterinary assistant with long brown hair and sparkling blue eyes had quit her job, and dropped off of the map. Due to my old job I hadn't had much time to exersize, I was a little bit heafty. Now I was living in a medium sized town in Colorado called Longmont. I had found a job at a book store, a cheap apartment, and had a few casual friends. My appearance had changed. I now had a soft, slender body, with creamy skin, full rosy lips, and green eyes that were big, and soft, and surrounded by thick black lashes. My hair was down to my thin waist in thick ringlets that were auburn, almost red, but too dark to be classified as such.

My whole appearance was soft, docile, making anyone want to jump in front of me to protect me. I was likable, to the point where in any form, anyone wanted to protect me, but this body increased that overprotective emotion. The most twisted, deranged killer on earth would blanch at the thought of hurting me. My employers were even protective over me, even more so as we got to know each other fairly well. The two women who I worked for were older, late fifty's maybe. Sisters, who each had more than one child. They gave me the safest jobs, shelving books on lower shelves, labeling books coming in, checking out people, though they insisted that if a customer looked even slightly sketchy that they take care of them. It was almost annoying, but I was pleased with this body. Before I had taken on this look, I hacked into several government systems, ensuring this face wasn't taken.

For months, I got comfortable with my new life, before one day, two men in suits walked into the shop. I smiled at them, asking if the needed anything as I stood from labeling books. Only three of us were working today. The boss was downstairs looking through the books, the other girl who worked here was helping one of our regular customers find something, and I was left to tend the counter and label books.

They nodded, and the one with green eyes asked softly, ¨Yes, miss...?¨ I smiled and said, ¨I'm Vivian Stone. What can I do for you gentlemen?¨ The taller one cleared his throat, and I internally drooled. I love tall men. ¨Well Miss. Stone, we're with the FBI. I'm Agent Sam Forbes and this is my partner, Agent Dean Regrens. We're investigating the death of your coworker Debra Mearing.¨

My face fell, and I said sadly, ¨Right.¨ They both seemed uncomfortable, before I said, ¨Anything you want, just ask. I want the monster who did this behind bars for life or dead.¨ They seemed shocked, and I said after a breath, ¨Sorry, Deb and I were close. She was like a sister to me.¨ They nodded, and said, ¨Okay. Did Debra act oddly in the days leading up to her death?¨ I thought and said, ¨No, not really. She was fairly normal. Came to work, we talked a little, then we went out for ice cream because it was her birthday, before I went home.¨ He nodded, jotting something's down before he asked, ¨Did Debra have any enemy's? Anyone who would want to hurt her?¨ I started to shake my head, before I stopped, and said, ¨Wait, maybe. She had an ex who got really pissed when she found out that he was into some pretty weird stuff. Nothing that's illegal, but I think it should be. Then there was this customer that came in this week, and he asked her out. He was really weird, and she said no, and when he checked out, he told her she would regret saying no.¨ Agent Dean looked at me, and said, ¨What was the boyfriend into?¨

I looked around to see if anyone was watching and told them, ¨He kept poking holes in their condoms to try and get her pregnant. She told him to stop, but he wouldn't so she dumped him.¨ They looked at each other, exchanging glances, before Agent Sam asked, ¨Has there been any weird smells around the shop lately?¨ My brows furrowed, before I thought about something, and said, ¨Acctually, there was this really bad smell downstairs for a while, like rotten eggs.¨
