I sighed in anger and threw my duvet off the bed and onto the floor. Ever since Luke had told me what had happened, I'd hardly slept. Having his warm, comforting presence beside me was something I really missed. I didn't seem to be able to relax. It didn't help that I couldn't stop imagining him with Claire. It was like the rug had been pulled from under my feet.

I tiptoed downstairs, maybe if I had a cup of tea and chilled out for a while, I'd be able to get some sleep. As I switched the kettle on I glanced at my watch and saw that it was two am. I quickly made a cup of tea and curled up on the sofa with a book.

As I sat reading, time passed quickly, it was the only thing that helped me. Being able to immerse myself in a fantasy world for a while, brought me some much needed relief.

After an hour or so, I glanced up as I heard a noise.

"Hey." Ashton said as he threw himself next to me.

I jumped slightly and smiled at him.

"What are you doing up at this hour?" he asked me.

"Couldn't sleep, what's your excuse?" I smiled.

"I heard someone moving around so I came to investigate." he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes at him and laughed. His sense of humour was so infectious, he always seemed to be able to make me laugh.

He'd been a rock for me for the past few weeks. The only one that I could talk to and have a laugh with. I'd never be able to thank him enough.

I sighed and put my book on the table.

"Thanks for being here for me Ashton." I said quietly.

"No problem." he smiled.

I glanced down at his lips as I slowly moved my face closer to his. I saw him frown in confusion. I closed my eyes and gently pressed my lips to his. I gasped as he pulled away from me.

"We can't do this, I have a girlfriend." he stated quietly.
