A little short but whatever

Enjoy :D

"Please quiet down," I tell the immature boys for the third time as I try to check books in, in peace.

I covered my mouth as I yawned, I'm so tired. School was a bore, and I got assigned a bunch of homework. For about an hour and a half I have been trying to juggle my stupid homework and checking books in while two annoying boys keep messing around distracting me.

Amelia (my boss) had to leave early because her dog had to get surgery.. Or something like that, so now I'm here all alone holding down the fort until closing time. I told her that I have to be home at 7 to watch my little sister and she said that's fine and just to close up early.

It was slow today, really slow. There was probably only like eight people in here including myself. I looked up and didn't see anyone who needed my help, I put one earbud in my ear and began to go back to work. Music is my favorite thing of all time, its a good way to escape reality.

I was tapping my foot lightly, when someone cleared their throat loudly. Really? I pulled my earbud out and looked up to the annoying person.

A breath caught in my throat when I looked into cold green eyes that belonged to the only and only Lauren Jauregui. She's so intimidating.

She smirked, "Hey library girl, I need a book," she said calmly and slowly. "Can you help me?"

My eyes widened, she wants my help?

"You do work here, right?" She asked amused.

"Y-yeah follow me," I stood and motioned her to follow.

"So uh.. what are you looking for?"

"A book," I rolled my eyes at her answer. "For a project."

"Okay for what class?"

"History," she answered. "That's why I was here yesterday."

Ew. I will probably never forget that disturbing moment. She laughed darkly. I brought her over to the history section.

"Here you are," I picked at my nails nervously. "If you need anything just ask." I turned to walk back to the front desk.

"Wait."

My heart pounded hard against my chest. I gulped.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"C-Camila," I stuttered. Ugh why do I keep doing that? I avoided her gaze as my cheeks heated up.

"You have a stuttering problem," she stated bluntly. I looked up at her frowning, she looked completely serious, not the least bit joking. "You should do something about that." Lauren turned away from me looking at the books on the shelves.

I stared at her dumbfounded. I cannot believe her.

Lauren turned back toward me with a brow raised running a hand through her black hair, "Don't you have a job to do other than stare at me all day?"

I admit I was staring, but she didn't have to be a jerk about it.

I shook my head and went back to the desk leaving her alone. There is something wrong with her, first she asks all nice what my name is then five seconds later she's rude telling me I have a stuttering problem. Ugh, she has major problems.

It is now 6:30, people left early so I locked the doors right as the last person walked out. I cleaned up the trash people left on tables, and plugged in the vacuum to clean the carpets like I do every night before I leave.

The vroom of the vacuum echoed through the empty building as I loudly began to sing a song that had been stuck in my head recently.

A drop in the ocean

A change in the weather

I was praying that you and me might end up together

It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert

But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven

I don't wanna waste the weekend

If you don't love me pretend

A few more hours then it's time to go

As my train rolls down the east coast I wonder how you keep warm

It's too late to cry
Too broken to move on

And still I can't let you be

Most nights I hardly sleep

Don't take what you don't need from me

Slow clapping startles me making me jump back and trip over the vacuum cord unplugging it as I fall to the floor and land on my butt. I look up to meet those green eyes, this time they arent as cold as they before, they hold amusement in them.

Lauren let out a very girly loud laugh as she pointed at me, "That was funny," she said wiping underneath her eye as if she was crying. Bitch. "Nice singing by the way."

She heard me singing how I'm embarrassing! Now I wanted to curl up into a ball and disappear.

"What are you doing here?" I asked still sitting on the floor.

She held her hand out for me to take and I subconsciously took it. I don't really know what I was expecting but I didn't expect her hand to be so warm and soft.

I brush off my jeans, "Seriously what are you doing here? We're closed."

"So it seems," she looked around. "I was napping but that loud ass vacuum woke me up."

I nodded and kneeled down to wrap up the cord. As I wrapped it up, Lauren cleared her throat very loudly. I sighed. She's so annoying.

Finishing it up I stood and looked at her. She held two books up, "I need you to check these out."

I pursed my lips, "Sorry I can't. The computers are shut down. If you would have came to me with those earlier, this wouldn't be a problem."

Wow, I actually stood my ground. Pushing the vacuum to where it needed to be I head to the front desk, and hear footsteps following behind me.

"I need these books tonight. I have a project due tomorrow morning," she pretty much begs. Who would have thought 'The Bad Girl' would be begging for books?

"I'm sorry," I put my stuff in my backpack. "I can't."

I jump when the books are slammed onto the desk, I meet her eyes and almost gasp when I see how scary her eyes had gotten. Her jaw clenched she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Check these out. Now."

With shaky hands I grab a pen and quickly write down the names of the books and take out the tiny cards in them. I swallow a lump in my throat and hand the books back to her.

She opens her eyes that are so cold and scary and mumbles a 'thanks' before leaving out the front door.
