I walked down the sandy shores, my hand intertwined with Luke's. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore, calmed me, making me sigh.
I leaned my head on Luke's shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
When we reached our favorite part of the beach, with all of the gullies, and huge rocks that we have always climbed since we were little.
Luke pulled my hand, and dragged me to the dry sand. He sat down, and I did the same.
He hasn't been himself ever since after the fireworks went off.
I was about to leave with my family, when he pulled me aside and said he needed to talk.
It would have worried me, but he wouldn't break up with me...right?
He took a deep breathe, before he looked into my eyes.
The normal deep blue of his eyes was gone, leaving behind sadness and worry.
My heart began beating inside my chest, faster than normal.
I began to think up all of the possible scenarios, of what could possibly have to tell me, but my mind went back to the same one.
He's breaking up with me.
I knew it, I mean what else is there.
"Nat I love you, you know that, but-"
"You're breaking up with me." I sighed sadly.
"No, no." He waved his hands frantically.
I relaxed a little, but then the dreaded question came back to my mind.
Than what did he have to tell me?
I mean he did seem, nervous and a bit upset.
"I got accepted to the college I wanted." He said sadly, trying to search my eyes for a reaction.
I hugged him tightly, and congratulated him, but when he didn't seem to be celebrating, I pulled back.
I saw the sadness in his eyes, as he waited for me to come to my senses.
That's when it hit me.
The college he got accepted to was in Trenton.
"B-but Trenton's like five hours from here." I said sadly.
He nodded, and I felt a tear slip down my cheek. He whipped it away with his thumb, tears in his own eyes.
"I could reject and ju-"
"No, it's what you want." I said with a weak smile. "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it is meant to be." I said making a tear fall down his cheek, which he quickly whipped away, hoping that I didn't see.
"When do you leave?" I asked looking down at the sand that had become interesting.
"Three days."
"Than let's make them the three best days of our lives." I said making him smile, but was soon replaced with a frown.
"Does this mean..." He said sadly, I nodded not trusting my weak voice. I also kept my eyes locked on the sand, knowing that if I saw his sad blue eyes, I would lose it.
"Hey, it's OK." He said bringing his finger to my chin. He pulled my chin up, forcing my eyes to lock with his. "I'm not leaving yet." He said making me smile.
"Come on, lets get you home." He said helping me up.
I nodded, and fell into his strong arms, my legs too weak to walk.
