When We Meet Again

Chapter 12

~Eren's POV~

Everything was going to hell. More than half of the entirety of the troops were either dead or seriously injured. Titans are tailing our wagons and horses as we engage our escape- forcing us to dump our wagon of bodies... on top of that (Y/N) was dead and all of the scouts had lost the will to fight any longer...

I rode inside of a wagon along with Mikasa -who was hovering over me as though someone would take me from her at any moment- which probably was true, considering the many titans chasing us now. Hanji was tinkering with some of the 3DMG's, tears rolling down her face.

Levi had told her about (Y/N). I guess he found her right after I passed out. She simply fiddled with the hunks of metal- not really paying attention to her imminent death.

(Y/N)...I saw her in the forest when I was looking for her.

In the distance I saw her and the female titan brawling it out. My stomach dropped as I saw all of the bodies of my team and the sight of (Y/N) being thrown into the trees. I called out her name but it was too late.

I swung up onto the nearest tree and my heart sunk even further. There was blood on the tree ahead.

(Y/N)...

I could barely make out the shape of her body- speared by branches and stray twigs.

There was startling sound that came within the forest- just beyond the tree line. I sat bolt upright- wiping the remainder of tears in my eyes trying to focus on what was happening.

The ground shook and surprisingly enough- some of the titans trying to catch up to us- stopped.

Two ear splitting roars ran through the air and out came two female titans!

One of them with short blond hair- obviously the same titan from before and the other with (H/L/C) and (E/C) eyes.

My heart was caught in my throat as I whirled around to look at Levi- to find that he was already looking at me- confusment lingering in his stern eyes.

It couldn't be. She was dead. I saw her dead body...

I stood up hastily- reaching for one of the 3DMG's Hanje was tinkering.

"Eren- don't-" Mikasa said apologetically as she grabbed my wrist.

I twisted out of her grasp and continued forward- but it was no use. She was faster than me. She stood in between me and the 3DMG's now- her face full of sorrow.

"I have to help her!" I yell as I try to make my way out of the wagon-

But Mikasa has me up in the air then pinned to the ground before I can blink.

"You're too weak! You can't shift again- you'll die!" Mikasa yelled- her eyes reflecting pity and sorrow.

I was angry- I shoved her off of me and stood, tears threatening to spill, "(Y/N) will die if I don't help her! Are you considering that?"

Mikasa's face contorted as she shouted, "I don't want to lose you! Have you considered that?"

I blinked and a tear slid down my face, "I love (Y/N) and I always have."

~Your POV~

An unexplainable emotion ran through you. Worse than anger. Worse than hate. You would kill that female titan- even if it was the last thing you did. You would tear her to shreds...

Being in your titan form felt good. It was as if some kind of weight had been lifted from your shoulders. A very heavy weight at that...

You could vaguely remember transforming into your titan form.

You woke up to an uncomfortable feeling. Pain- that's the only thing you could feel- you felt it all along your torso and legs.

As you opened your eyes- you'd wish you hadn't. Branches were sticking out of your body everywhere. Gritting your teeth, you slowly lifted your head to observe the damage as you tried to recollect your thoughts.

Where were you? What were you doing here? How did this happen?

Tears ran down your face as you felt your body numb a bit as the events from the last few hours unrolled in your mind. The mission. The female titan. Petra. And Eren...

You didn't dare move a muscle. One slight movement would mean searing pain through your whole body- but the tears kept coming, not from the physical pain at least...

Everyone was gone. Everyone you truly loved was gone, except-

Eren...he was probably fighting her right now. As you did nothing. You clenched your fists weakly and closed your eyes- you would not lose Eren too.

There was an ear piercing crashing sound and you opened your eyes- startled to find that you were no longer impaled on a branch nor were you close to the forest ground at all...

Your fist collided with something hard as you were brought to your senses. The female titan swung and connected with your jaw. Your were thrown backwards and landed on your back.

At this point you were getting frustrated. As a titan- you weren't as quick or agile as you usually were as a human.

You swung your foot around- tripping the other titan causing her to land on her back too. You stood as quickly as you could and punched the female titan directly in the face- but by the third punch she lifted her arm to block- her arm seemed to crystalize in front of your eyes.

Your hand collided with her arm and you screamed and searing pain shot through you. You both just scrambled for a bit- but in reality this fight was going no where. She was obviously a skilled fighter and those eyes- distant and icy blue.

She unleashed a roar which seemed to shake the earth. You took this opportunity to punch her as hard as you could in the throat- or at least where her throat would be when she's human. You proceeded to put her in a headlock as you tried to literally rip her head off.

You were so sick of this girl doing whatever the hell she wanted and on top of that- she gets away with it. You would avenge your friends and your loved ones...

The female titan simply stared at you as you made your move- amusement lingering in her cold eyes. You felt the skin of her neck crystallize.

You gritted your teeth and growled. Before you could even blink- she threw you to the ground, ready to strike. But she never got to attack you- because Eren came sprinting up from behind and tackled her.

Relief engulfed you like a wave. Eren was alive- and still well from the looks of it.

At that moment- you can feel the exhaustion hit you like a slap to the face. You stood up as best as you could- finally taking in your surroundings. An open green valley filled with scouts, wagons and dead bodies- both human and titan.

You turned to see Eren's titan body being thrown around by the female titan. You broke into a run as you grabbed the back of the female titan's neck and looked at Eren.

He seemed to understand your notion and he held the face of the female titan- and before she knew what hit her, You and Eren twisted in opposite directions. The female titan's head came clean off in one frail snap and it was over.

Her titan body sunk to its knees and something flew out of the nape of its neck. It was a young girl- from the looks of her. Short blond hair, pale blue eyes and a crooked nose.

'Gotcha,' you thought.

You turned to look at Eren- but his titan body was on the ground slowly starting to disintegrate. He must of left the body already-

You sunk to your knees as if gravity were pulling you towards the earth-as you felt something grab your arm- not your titan arm, your real arm and pull you out of the boiling hot neck of your titan form.
