An Unexpected Fall
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sang's POV
06th April 2018
Cars, asphalt, trees, dead bodies, more cars, more asphalt, more trees, more dead bodies.
Same thing, day in, day out for the last three days.
What I would give for a live body right now.
My water became non existent, food almost gone. I've had to start raiding the cars for any sign of food and water or anything of use.
So far I have managed to find a few bottles of water, barely any food, but nothing else I could use.
I've become so bored I have started to count the colours of the cars. I managed to get, fifty-six silver or grey cars; who knows after a few years of just sitting there, one hundred and three white, eighty-six black, twenty-nine red, three pink; they could also have been red but I called pink, twelve yellow, and five orange.
Then I got bored...Again.
Sometimes, I wish I lived in one of those Zombie books or movies. No matter where you go, there is always one of those suckers, well biters, roaming around, and in times like this, when I'm completely and utterly bored, they could help fix that problem.
Of course I don't want the crazy Zombies, you know the ones that are super fast and strong. The docile ones would be better, that way I could work on my sword action a bit more.
I mostly use my rifle, don't have to get too close to the target, and they never see it coming. It kind of sounds cruel, but I figure if they don't know what's coming, then at least they don't have to face death in fear.
It's only those who I think deserve to know what's coming, that I make an appearance.
Now my sword, I would definitely have to get up close and personal. But unfortunately, I'm Zombieless, and humanless, even animalless; if any of those are actual words.
I stopped short at the sight of something new.
Oh look. A bridge. Haven't seen one of those in a while. Maybe there's water.
I walk into the middle of the bridge and look down. It's actually quite beautiful.
The water was crystal clear and you could see right down to the bottom. It wasn't very deep, and you could see the rocks that lined the bottom.
As if my body wasn't already exhausted enough, the sight of water made me feel even more worn down. Maybe I'll take a bath, that's another thing I haven't had in a while.
I look to the side of the bridge for a way down, and see one on the other side.
I walk over to the other side and observe the path down. It's a step decline and the terrain is nothing but rocks.
Very carefully I start a slow descent, but as luck is apparently not on my side, I start to slid down the hill, and fast.
I try and turn around to use my hands as well to slow me down, but my foot hits a large rock, and the next thing I know is I'm falling backwards towards the water.
You know when people explain when they fall, it's always in slow mo and your whole life flashes before your eyes. Well that didn't happen to me. It was so fast I couldn't even think up a memory.
I hit the water hard and the sharpness of the water only triggers a small shiver before my head hits a rock, and everything goes dark.
