Here you go Jellybean. It's small but il have more up tomorrow for you.
Enjoy.
A-AWe were all situated around the kitchen, sitting on any available surface. I was sitting on Owen's lap with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in my hands. After making sure that everyone had a drink and were comfortable, I finally took a moment to stare at Owen.
"How are you? Really?" From the moment I laid eyes on him, I could see the tension in the way he stood, in the way he talked and in especially in the way he walked. Everything seemed force and I didn't know how to make it better.
After a lengthy sigh he finally placed his cup down taking mine from my hands and placing them both on the table. He wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling myself up against him, burring his head into the crook of my neck.
"I never thought I would see you again, I was starting to give up hope. What does that say about me, that the one person I love more than life itself, I was giving up." I could feel his shoulder shake as the cold touch of his tears touched my shoulder.
"Oh Owen. Even though I may like to call you perfect, we all know that no one, and I mean no one is perfect. So you lost a little hope for a while, did it stop you from searching?" I grab his chin and force it up until he has no choice but to meet my gaze. "Did it?"
"Never." He whispers back leaning in and capturing my lips in his own. "I love you Sang, so much so that it scares me that there isn't anything I wouldn't do to keep you safe."
I smile at him, running my hand down his cheek. "Would it make you feel better if I told you that I'm in the exactly same boat as you? There isn't anything I would do for you either." I look around at the others who are silently observing us. "For any of you."
I lean back from Owen and pick up my cup taking a mouthful. I rest one arm on the bench resting my chin in my hand. "So tell me everything. What have you all been up to? Where have you been? What you seen? How you all are? Everything."
"Well Pookie, first off, come here cause I need me some Pookie time." I giggle giving Owen a kiss on his cheek before making my way over to Sean. I sit on his lap and give a kiss, making it short.
I turn around on his lap until back is flush with his chest and look around at everyone expectantly.
Kota leans forward resting his arms on his knees clamping his hands together. "Where would you like us to start Ten?"
"Why the start of course. I want to know everything that has happened from the moment you all left for Greenville."
"Well as you know, we left for Greenville. All was uneventful. We arrived that night and we had to leave early the next morning to get to the Academy Head Quarters, so we were all asleep early. I still remember a small rumble, nothing to extreme, but it wasn't that that woke me up. It was the silence. The absolute quietness that left a ringing in my ears, I never realised how much noise the world made until it was all switched off.
"I remember grabbing my phone, wanting to call you, make sure you were ok, but as you can imagine the phone was unresponsive. We all came to the conclusion that our best place to find answers would be to head to HQ and then from there decide what to do. Unfortunately for us, it didn't work out quite like me planned. The Academy held us under ground for three months, telling us that it was to dangerous for us to leave, and when the time come the world would need good people to help build it back up.
"I don't think they realised the extent to what it was really like out there, the world was a complete mess, the smells, the bodies." He shivered looking at the ground as if drawn back into his memories. North who was sitting beside him put a hand on his shoulder squeezed before looking at me.
"Baby the things we have seen, the things we have done, none that were pretty. But we managed to make it back to the house, only to find it empty. I was so set on my beliefs that you would still be there that when you weren't I feared for the worst." I watched as a tear slid down his face and I climbed out of Sean's lap and closed the distance between us.
Wrapping his arms around me he continued his story. "We found the back packs and the food you left for us; thanks for that by the way. We rested up that night and head of at first light. We continued our search for you, always looking for you mark. It wasn't until a couple of months ago when we met a woman who had been searching for us. She told us of how you saved her and that you were looking for us. She said that the only way she pay you back for saving her life was to find us and help lead us to you."
I saw Gabe pop up from across the room looking at Sean. "Oh. I want to fucking know how Sean knew were to find you. Because we all thought he had fucking lost his mind at one stage." I look to Sean and smiled.
"Actually, I also want to know how he can see Angel?"
"Angel? Who the fuck is that?" I smile up at North and his clear sign of jealousy.
It was Sean who answered though. "I have always been able to see them, ever since I can remember. I guess it was from the situation on how I was brought into this world. I never told anyone though, I didn't want anyone to think I was crazy."
"To late for that." I heard Luke mutter under his breath, North just grunts his agreement.
"What can you see Sean. I still don't understand." Sean looked to Owen and smiled.
"Why, dead people of course."
