Oracle's Bright Side

"Barb I'll be in your apartment in a minunte, if this jack a** would hurry up, my father said to me through the phone.

"Says the cop."

"Quite, you!" I hear the oven beeping meaning the dinner I made is done.

"Barbara I'm walking to the builing see you in a few," my dad says before hanging up.

I take the food out of the oven, and here the door bell ring. Wow, that was super fast, espically for dad. 

I open the door......it's not my dad.

His crazy green hair, the tropical shirt, the bleach white skin, and the evil smile all wrapped up in one souless person, the Joker. Guess what he has, a gun, pointed at my heart. Because of my training I was able to push the gun away from my heart but not far enough. I feel the most horrible pain I have ever felt go through me as the monster laughed his horrible laugh and than everything goes black.

I'm in the hosptial with my dad and his girlfriend, Sarah around my bed. There is also a docter he has a grim expression on his face.

"Mrs.Gordon I have some bad news," the doctor says,"becuse the bullet ruptured-"

"Use english Doc," my dad says.

The doctor exhaled a large breath of air before continuing, "Mrs.Gordon because of the bullet wound in the spot it is in, you won't be able to move from the waist down, I'm truely sorry."

I cant't belive it, I can never walk or run or kick or punch, I can't be Batgirl. 

That's when I start to cry. I cry for a long time, a really, long time it's luch the next day before I stop crying. I'm lying in bed thinking about how my life will change. Sarah dragged my Dad to the food court after some arguring, so I'm alone. Until I hear shouting 

from the hallway, "Sir the visting time is for family only," a nurse says.

"I am family," the man replies. He stands in the doorway looking perfect like he always does, with his raven black hair and his dark blue eyes. I suddely am surronded in a happy, warm, embrace filled with love.

"Hey Dick," I whisper.

"Hey Beautiful," he replies. I nurse who tried to kick Dick out was long gone so it was just me and him.

"Dick I-I can't walk anymore." I felt the tears coming back as he holds me in his arms. "I'm not even a whole person anymore, I'm not good enough for a whole perfect guy from you." Dick breaks away from the hug suddly like it burned him. 

"You are perfect to me Babs, I fell in love with a girl who didn't care about others thought about her and didn't let standers hold her down. I fell in love with your smarts and your caring. I will always love you Babs, nothing will ever change that." Dick finished and just sarted at me with thoses eyes, thoses perfect eyes that make your insides feel like mush. 

"I thought of a way you can still fight crime," he say "you could use your hacking skills and your perfect memory to help find info about the bad guys. It would be like you knew what they would do before they did."

"Like telling the future, I could be a super hero oracle" I replied. Oracle is a really cool sounding name I thought.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking," I ask my boyfriend. 

"Are you thinking about how sexy of a name Oracle is," he reply while putting his forhead on mine. I giggled, grr I hate it when Dick makes me giggle because that just reminds me just how much I love him.

Things might not seem terrible but there is always a bright side. My bright side is named Richard Grayson.
