Allison

It was around 3:45 in the morning when I woke up screaming from another nightmare. It was the same one I've been having since the day I left home and moved out to New York. It started out normal, hanging around my friends, screaming as one of them picked me up and threw me into the pool. As soon as I hit the water, everything became dark, and there I was, kneeling on the ground, crying as my former best friend screamed hurtful things towards me. It almost felt real, just like the fight that caused me to leave home, but in the real fight, I screamed back, saying an equal amount of hate towards him. It tore me apart inside, remembering all of the things the two of us had said to each other, but that was in the past, almost 4 years had passed since then.

I knew that after that dream I wouldn't be going back to sleep anytime soon. I never did. I picked up my phone from off of the nightstand and scrolled through my twitter feed , reading through all the tweets my supporters had posted on my latest video. My only two friends in New York and I had posted a cover of Change My Mind by One Direction a year ago and ever since we've been doing really well. With almost one million subscribers on YouTube, and working on some originals, people seemed to love our content. Our latest video was a cover of Lie To Me by 5 Seconds of Summer, and man was that difficult.

Singing a song that my former best friends produced, yeah, what a great idea that was. Filming was extremely difficult, I broke down during almost every take. The finished product was actually amazing, everyone seemed to love it. Reading the comments always lifted my spirits, all the loving messages warmed me up inside. With the amount of notifications I had I almost didn't notice that Luke himself had tweeted out a clip of the video.

"@Luke5sos: So proud of you @AllisonAnderson1 !!!! You're really out here doing amazing things!"

I smiled at the tweet. Although Luke and I had talked several times since I left home, it really made me happy knowing he loved what I was doing. Luke and Michael were the only ones I had really talked to since the fight. It wasn't always, only a few DM's here and there, but it always felt good to talk to them. Calum and I talked only a handful of times, but always positive things were said. Ashton and I were a whole different story. Him being the only boy who was able to break my heart, as well as everything inside me, we hadn't spoken since he left. I tend to block him out, except for supporting the band, I wouldn't be able to just block out the rest of their existences, I cared so much about them.

After hours of mindlessly scrolling through social media, and watching a few YouTube videos it was 7:00 am, early enough where my friends would still be asleep, but late enough where I could go out without the fear of being kidnapped and murdered. I slipped into a pair of sweatpants that were way too big, I believe I stole them from Luke years ago, and he was well over a foot taller than me so they were extremely long. I left the sweatshirt I slept in on, I was only going to the coffee shop around the corner, so there was no use in looking fancy. I had a missed call from my mother so I figured I'd call her on my walk. It was already 11 pm there, so as soon as I walked out the door I dialed her number.

"Allison! How are you? It's been so long!" My mom shouted into the phone.

"I'm good mom, and it's only been four days." I laughed at how excited she was.

"That's like forever in mom time sweetie." She chuckled, "I just wanted to check in and say hello before you went to work."

"It's good to hear your voice, I miss you guys." I sighed, exiting the apartment building "Why are you up so late?"

"I'm with Anne and the kids, catching up and reliving the old days." She trailed off towards the end "I'm sorry honey, I didn't mean to bring them up."

"No, no, it's okay. How is everyone? Harry and Lauren are growing up so quickly." I forced a small laugh, but it got caught in my throat.

"They're good! Everyone here misses you." I could tell she had a saddened smile on her face, I knew she was almost heartbroken when Ashton and I ended our fifteen year friendship in one night.

"I miss them too, tell everyone I said hello. I gotta go though, picking up coffee for the girls before the work day begins." I smile, despite her not being able to see me.

"Okay sweetie, call soon, I miss hearing your voice everyday! Love you."

I rushed out an "I love you too" and hung up the phone. When I turned the corner I could see a crowed of screaming girls gathered on the street. I was confused on why, but continued on my journey to get coffee.

When I entered the shop I let out a sigh of relief to see it wasn't busy. The shop was small, One of the few in New York City that wasn't a Dunkin' or a Starbucks, and the owners were the nicest people I had ever met.

"Allie! My favorite customer!" Benny shouted when I walked to the counter "You're usual?"

"You know it Benny!" I laughed, handing him the money.

"This one's on me girl." He said, pushing the cash back to me.

"They always are." I shook my head, but kept the smile on my face.

"Have a seat while you wait, coffee is still brewing, we just opened." He pointed to the small tables that sat in the corner.

I happily obliged, I was exhausted from being up so early, I needed something in my system if I was going to continue on with today.

All my attention was on my phone as I continued reading through Twitter. I smiled at all the love and support people were throwing at Alex, Ashley and I, we were really going places. I hardly even realized the new people who had walked into the shop.

"Do you think we lost them?" I heard one of them say, his voice sounded so familiar.

"I think so. I don't think I've ever ran so fast." The other replied, slightly out of breath, his voice too sounded familiar to me.

"Michael, I don't think you have ever run before." The first voice laughed.

My head snapped up, and there they were. Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford. This cannot be happening right now.

"Order up for Miss. Allison Anderson!" Benny shouted with a smile plastered on his face.

The two boys turned around slowly, meeting my eyes for the first time since I left. I sat there , frozen in place and at a loss for words.

What the hell am I supposed to do?
