Chapter 4 : Bounter

      I wake up and feel a mad sting on my arm and forehead. Then I feel something prick my arm and I grown. I try to get up but something stops me.

     "Can't sit up yet babe," I hear someone whisper. It's a boys voice but I don't know who it belongs to. I feel something pinch my other arm and my eye lids suddenly become heavy.

     "Go back to sleep," I hear a girl say.

     That's the last thing I hear before only darkness follows.

     "Shit their here. We gotta go and get the hell out of here or we're dead."
     "No we're not."
     "Want a bet? All we have is a Mac 10 'cause we left all our other guns in the van. Unless we can stand up against one hundred men with shotguns, rifles and Mac 10's, and sniper rifles. Oh wait, I forgot the most important thing they have and we don't. Bombshells. All they have to do is shoot one in here or downstairs and this thing ether collapses and we die or they shoot it in here and we die."
     "Tyler, you forgot that I have stuff to."
     "Okay. What do you have, Selena? And shut up Tyler."
     "I have sniper rifle in my closet. I also have some grenades and about ten Mac 10's with fifty mags for each."
     "What about Kate?"
     "Caroline, I promise she'll be fine."

     I open my eyes with my head and arm on fire to find Caroline, Ashley, Tyler, and another girl I don't recognize with dark brown hair and eyes all in a big white room. She's wearing a light blue top with ripped jeans. She also has a stethoscope around her neck.

     They finally look to me and they basically run over.

     "Kate, this is Selena. She's an old friend of mine. One that apparently, Tyler doesn't trust," she says the last part through her teeth.
      "Hey, I was tought to never trust anyone," Tyler says.
      "Yeah, but if you did that you wouldn't have found me would you?," Ashley protests.
     "Where am I?," I say breaking the silence.
     "Your at my house," Selena states. "And that umm... gang that was chasing you? Yeah, umm..."
     "I know. I heard you before I opened my eyes."
     "Okay," Ashley says, "We need to hit 'um. Get the first shot off."
     "Yeah," Selena and Tyler agree.
     "No," I say.
     "No?," Caroline says. I forgot she was even in the room.

     It hit me. They don't want me dead. They want me alive.

     "They don't want to kill me. They want me alive. We can use that to our advantage."
     "We can make a deal with- " Tyler's cut off by a phone. It brings three times before anyone picks it up. In the end it's Ashley who does.

     "Hello?," she says sarcastically.

     She nods a few times before she almost drops the phone. She looks at Tyler, then to me and says, "Its for you."

     I try to pick up the phone with my left hand but when I raze it, it only sends waves of pain up and down my arm. I pick it up with my other hand and say, "Yes?"

     I see Ashley whisper something to Tyler and Selena but am cut from my thoughts when I here the voice of a man I thought I would never hear from again.

    "Hello, Kate. Nice to hear your still alive. Sorry for the mishap. My men didn't quite get it when I said not to shoot you, but yet, here we are..."
     "What do you want?," I say getting to the point.
     "You know what I want. I want my new girl to be happy. And she won't be happy till you come down here and she can have a little fun with you."
      "I'll come down on one condition."
      "And what may that be my love?," he says in an ice cold tone.
    
     I see Ashley shaking her head and Caroline is, or looks like she's about to cry. Selena is shaking her head to, but then there's Tyler. He's got his gun in hand and starts to walk to the door.

     I drop the phone and try to get up to stop him but Selena holds me back. That's when I realize that Tyler has a sniper rifle.

     "Kate? Kate, if you don't pick up this phone I will order my men to shoot your sniper. You have three seconds. One... two... th- " I pick up the phone and before he can finish saying three I say, "I'm here! Don't shoot him!"

     "Good. Now then. Let's get back to business shall we? You had a condition. What is your condition?"
     "They get to live. And if you so much as touch them I will kill all of you before I die. Are we clear?"
     "Crystal. Now get Selena to be a doll and clean you up so my girl can have her fun? Oh and just in case you didn't know, this is Bounter speaking." And that was the last thing I heard him say before he hung up.

     Caroline is balling by now. It's like a river of tears that just keep coming.

     "What the hell was that?," Ashley almost shouts.
     "That was me keeping you alive! Now if you will get out of my way I need to leave before he kills Tyler and all of you!"
      "You are not going anywhere like that. You can't even lift your arm with out groaning," Selena points out.
      "That's my problem. Now let me go before we all die!"
      "Your not going anywhere. Especially not with Bounter," Caroline says.
       "Yes I am now let me go. We needed a deal and I made one."
    
       I feel something prick my arm and my eyelids start to get heavy. The last thing I see is five men in black t-shirts and jeans come in and pull out there glocks. I try to get mine from my jeans but feel it being taken away. Then everything goes black.
