After we got home from the hospital, we devoured our food. "So...(licks finger) how was your day?" I question smiling lightly at them. Jeremy grins "Oh you know, worrying about psychos that aren't you. So that was a pleasant surprise." He chuckles and I punch him lightly on the arm.

"Well, actually both of the schools called. They said that they heard about what happened and wondered if you were okay, I told them you were fine. Just that you were a little bruised." She looked at Jeremy, "Then your school called, said you got in a fight. Want to explain?"

Jeremy sighed, "So, this douche bag Jake, was being an a-" Janet's eyes narrowed at her son "Language." He sighed "He was being rude, and making stupid jokes. So I punched him...and knocked him out.

He is captain of the team, and the coach is somehow related to him. Jake is a bully and a womanizer, I wasn't about to let him make fun of my family at their weakest moment, and let the coach turn a blind eye. So I decked him." His jaw was clenched, and his hands clenched around his plastic fork.

"Well, while I'm proud of you for standing up for your family; no phone for a week, no dates for a month, and straight home after football practice." She commands, and Jeremy nods glumly but resigned.

Janet goes back to eating after taking Jeremy's phone away. I nudge him with my elbow, he looks at me. "What?" He asks leaning forward, whispering. "You should've left them to me. I could have made sure they didn't talk." I grin wickedly.

He sighs exasperatedly and I frown and burrow my eyes in confusion. "What?" I asked confused.

"When you say things like that it makes me want to seriously injure the person you're talking about, so you don't have to be this person."

I don't understand his logic, but I understand the protective anger that danced across his face. I've had it flash on my face multiple times with Kara. I nodded my head and swallowed the lump in my throat. Even after three years I'm still not used to having somebody protect me from the things parents can't. I still feel weird sometimes when I catch a glimpse of Jeremy's big brother look. Honestly it made me feel protected, though I'll never admit it.

Jeremy and Janet know everything about my family, well except the witch and how the fire started. But, pretty much everything.

After we're through I go upstairs and sleep. It's been a long day.

Oh my gosh this chapter took so long because it kept getting deleted, and it's still so frickin short I'm sorry I just wanted to get something out there.
