I walked home from school the day after I learned how to phase. Now that I could protect myself, I walked home in the woods everyday. I swayed as I walked, realizing I was acting stupid. I smiled. I kept walking not realizing where I was. I stopped from falling off the edge. I looked at where I was, I was at a stream, and water flowing heavily. There was a small waterfall over to my left, and to my right, was a fallen log, long enough to cross. I looked at the water again. It was moving to quickly to walk through without being swept off my feet. I set my backpack down on a stump, and walked over to the log. I put one foot on, debating if it was strong enough to hold me. After deciding it was, I jumped on, swiftly walking across. When I got to the other side I looked around. Typical woods. But there was a side of a building farther in. I studied it, and walked towards it. It was a abandoned shed. I opened the door and peaked inside. "Hello? Is anybody here?" I asked, pushing the door open even more, it making a creaking sound in the process. I walked in and noticed it was empty. Nothing was in here. I shrugged, telling myself I'd come back another day. I jogged back outside, quickly across the fallen tree. I grabbed my backpack, and headed for home.

"I'm at a pay phone, trying to go home." Adam Levine blared from my alarm clock as I smacked my hand down on it. I groaned as I sat up, looking at the clock. It was was to early. 4:27. I laid back down. Wednesday. Two more days. I closed my eyes, and instantly fell asleep.

I had woken up later so I rushed through my morning routine. I had gotten to school just as the bell rung. First class, gym. I hurried off to the locker rooms to change. I walked out wearing a white tank-top and blue shorts, along with tennis shoes. I walked over to Kelsey, who was also wearing the same outfit. "What's up?" I asked. She pointed to a group of boys. I looked and recognized them. The basketball team. And Ethan. I turned around. "He joined them?" I asked.

Slowly she nodded. "Sadly,"

"I seriously need a weekend." I said. At that she laughed.

"We all do." She looked around the gym. "Wanna play football?"

I smiled and nodded. She ran off to get the ball. She threw it to me, a perfect spiral, and I caught it. We played catch for a few minutes and then the basketball team walked up.

Jack, the lead jerk as I call him, walked right up to me. Close enough that I could smell his breath. And believe me, it wasn't pleasant.

"Lets play football," he said smiling stupidly.

"Bring it." I said. "Team captains?" I asked.

"Me and..." He said looking around his group of friends. "The newbe, Ethan, go ahead."

Ethan walked over to one side and Jack walked to the other. "Bryce." Jack called.

"Casey." Ethan said. I walked over. The team kept getting bigger and bigger, so eventually, we had about fifteen players on our team. It was; me, Ethan, Kelsey, the quarterback named Kyle, the running back named Jason, and a bunch of other big dudes. And Jack had the basketball players. "No threat." I said to Kelsey. She nodded.

"Basketball players, psht! Nothing to worry about." She said with a smirk.

"Set hut!" Kyle yelled. I ran down the gym floor. Kyle saw me, but I wasn't open, so he threw it to Kelsey. She caught it and ran it the remainder of the way.

"Yeah! Touchdown!" Kyle hollered. I gave Kelsey a high-five before I walked back to our team side. Then something hit my butt. I turned around to see Jack there, laughing. "The hell was that?"

He started laughing.

"Ass wap Wednesday. Better luck next time." He said as he laughed. I glared at him and turned around to walk back.

"Casey," Ethan said, waving for me to come over. I walked over and stood by his side. "Did you tell Zach and Bailey?" I shook my head. "Tell Bailey tonight. I'll see Zach later."

Well, I thought, now I just have to find out who this Bailey chick is.

"Bailey Borer freshmen."

"Bailey!" I said running down the halls. "Bailey!" The girl turns around, looking annoyed. She had blonde hair and blue eyes. Her hair was straight and she was a California stereo type.

"What?" She said. I stopped, out of breath.

"We need to talk, it's important." I said. Her eyes flashed.

"Can I go get my stuff?" She asked. I nodded. I followed her to her locker. She spun her combo, grabbed her stuff and turned to me. "Lets go?" I walked towards the doors and I was stopped. It was Ethan.

"Hey Casey," he said. Bailey looked at Ethan and then to me.

"Do you two...know each other?"

"Yeah," he said. He looked at me. "Can I come with you?"

"Sure, lets go." I said, turning to Bailey I said. "Alright lets go." We walked out of the school, into the woods, and to the same spot I went to yesterday. I told Bailey to sit down on a log and glanced at Ethan. "Both? Or just me?" I asked.

"You explain, we both." He said, putting his backpack down on the ground. I walked over to Bailey.

"Bailey, this is going to be hard to explain, but you need to know. Okay?" I asked. She nodded. "Ethan, me, you, my brother Zach, and Ethan's brother Jackson. We are...different. We have weird genes that select random people. We protect people, and ourselves....just watch."

She looked confused. I looked at Ethan, and he smirked. "One...two...three!" He yelled.

I leapt into the air, and landed in wolf form. I looked to where Ethan was standing, and he was also in wolf form. I looked back ahead, Bailey was scared, backing away, like I had done widen Ethan told me. I laid down on the ground and howled at Ethan. He followed my lead. Bailey slowly stood up, walking carefully over to us. She put her hand on my head and pet me. It was super weird to have a human pet me, even in wolf form. I stood up and walked back. I jumped into the air, landing on two feet. I turned to Bailey. "You can do this too Bailey." I looked at the wolf form of Ethan.

"You wanna give me a ride?" I said hopefulness in my voice. He smiled as much as a wolf could and walked over. I swung my leg over him and looked at Bailey. "We have to teach you how to phase, so we have to go deeper, I'm too lazy to run right now, so...ah crap. Bailey, you carry our backpacks and ride Ethan. I'll phase and run." I walked over and jumped. I landed and started to run. I looked over to see Bailey holding on to Ethan for dear life.
