Okay, I actually wrote this my freshmen year in high school, and I'm just refurbishing it a bit.
The pic is of who I feel Marissa looks like.
Please tell me what you think... Should I continue, should I stop. Let me know in the comments.
Constructive criticism is welcomed.

Chapter One
It was a cold winter morning in Manhattan, New York. My parents and I just moved here from sunny San Francisco, and I don't think my body has yet to adjust to the temperature change.
I was getting ready for my first day at a new school. My room was currently filled with unpacked boxes, and trying to figure out what I was going to wear was difficult considering I had no idea where my clothes were. Instead, I pulled a pair of skinny jeans and a long-sleeved top from whatever box they were thrown in and put them on. Grabbing my boots, I headed to the bathroom to fix my unruly curly hair. Putting it up into a simple ponytail, I put on my boots and headed down to the kitchen.
Mom was going frantic looking for something in one of the unpacked boxes in the room. She was pretty awesome when she wanted to be. Her skin was like caramel, her eyes were big and brown, and her hair was dark and shoulder length.
She looked up and flashed her beautifully white smile at me. "Good morning, Marissa,"
"Morning, mom. Where's dad?" I asked, grabbing my backpack off of the counter.
"I'm right here," dad said, walking into the kitchen. "Good morning," he said, giving mom a kiss on the cheek. "Ready to go, Marissa?" he asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I said.
"That's the spirit," dad said.
My dad is the sweetest person I've ever known, and also the whitest person I've ever known. If you look up the definition of 'white', you'll find a picture of him with is cheesy smile.
I follow him to the front door where we grab our coats from the hall closet and out the door into the cold winter morning. Dad unlocked his car door and I climbed in on the passenger side and waited for him to start the car and get the heat going. When he finally did, we headed down the driveway and in the direction of my new school.

Central High School was a pretty big school. It had beautiful structural detail making it look more like a museum than a high school. Students were making their way inside from the cold air, and I followed behind, looking for the sign that said 'Office'. Making my way through the crowd of people, I opened the door to the office. I walked up to the lady who was sitting at the desk, typing on the computer on the screen in front of her.
"How can I help you?" she asked, not looking up from the computer screen.
"I'm Marissa Anderson, today is my first day." I said.
She looked up from the computer and pushed her chair over to the printer behind her grabbing the papers that just printed. "This is your schedule," she hand me a piece of paper that showed the classes I'm in. "This is a map of the school with your classes highlighted. And this is the school guidelines; follow them and you should be fine." She handed me the papers and then signaled me to leave.
Turning on my heel, I walked out of the office, reviewing my schedule.
