Finally yes. It's been a little over a month since my last update, but worry not, it is here.

Enjoy.

Chapter Six

I woke up around eight in the morning on Christmas day. I thought about going into mom and dad's room and jumping on their bed yelling 'wake up, it's Christmas!', but I thought that would be immature. So, instead I decided I'd make breakfast.

I took a quick shower, washed my face, and brushed my teeth. I put on my matching P.J. set and then brushed my hair up into a top knot before making my way downstairs to the kitchen.

For breakfast, I made pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and fruit salad. By the time I was finished, mom and dad had made their way into the room.

"Merry Christmas!" I say, giving them both hugs.

"Merry Christmas, sweetie." mom and dad say, kissing my forehead.

"Do you guys want to eat then open presents, or open presents then eat?" I ask.

"We'll eat first. Don't want the food to get cold." dad says.

"This one is for you, dad." I say, handing him his gift.

"Thank you," he says.

"Mom, this is yours." she picks up the wrapped box I pointed to.

I watched as they opened my gifts to them with a smile on their faces.

"Aw, Marissa, how did you know I needed more of this?" mom asks, referring to her body scrub.

"You always need more of it, mom"

She laughs. "You know me so well. Open that bag next to you."

I pick up the bag and open it, pulling out a jewelry box. It was a birthstone necklace. "How'd you know I wanted this?" I ask with a smile.

"You've been asking for it since last Christmas." dad said in monotone.

I rolled my eyes and continued opening my gifts. Noelle had gotten me a framed picture of her, Jessica, and I. And Jessica got me a necklace with my first initial on it.

"You have one more present." mom said, referring to the large wrapped box under, more like next to, the tree.

I picked it up and it was surprisingly light. I take the lid off of the box, only to find there was another wrapped box inside. And another, and another, and another. Until I got to the smallest of them all. I was kind of afraid to open it. What if it was just a trick? What if they just wanted to get a good laugh in and say 'we got you, didn't we?' Parents can be cruel in that way.

Shaking my head, I cautiously open the slightly heavy box. I smiled when I saw what was inside. Car keys.

"You bought me a car?" I ask, smiling like the Cheshire Cat.

Dad just smiled and stood up, walking to the front door.

Confused, but still smiling, I followed him, along with mom. We stepped outside into the cold frigid air and I was greeted by a brand new black Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 SUV.

"This is mine?" I ask, tears on the brink of falling.

"All yours." dad said, smiling.

I practically screamed and hugged mom and dad as hard as I could. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You guys are the best. Is this why you've been acting so sneaky and weird?"
