Zach
_________
The next day I had a dream. except it didn't feel entirely like a dream.
All I could see was the smoke and fog, I appeared to be in a clearing, but the longer I walked the farther the tree line appeared to move away from me. I eventually just stopped trying, why was I dreaming anyways? I was supposed to be looking for my sister.
I sighed, staring off into the distance, wondering where the heck I was. Is this a place in Glamora? Did I die? The third option seemed unrealistic, but one could lose their mind in a place like this.
"Zach?" I heard a voice behind me and I whipped around to see Jay.
"Jay? What are you doing in my dream?" I asked confused, something was different about him.
"This isn't a dream, this is Glamora." He snorted.
"How do you know?"
"I can see." I noticed for the first time ever, instead of the creepy mist that usually replaced his eyes. they were clear and oval shaped black pupils scanned his surroundings.
"Why are we in Glamora?" I questioned.
"I'm not sure, there's usually a reason."
He kept glancing around. I had spotted movement in the distance. It looked like another claw, a strangely familiar, like I had seen them before.
My breath hitched in my throat as I stared at the seemingly unreal vision before me. She was unmistakable, but was she real?
I started running foreword before I had consciously started thinking about it. It was her! She had seen me know and was coming to meet me halfway. I could see the ecstatic look on her face. So close!
Then I slammed into an invisible wall. I gasped in pain as an arc of green light spread out like ripples from where I crashed into it.
Zara stared at me with wide eyes on the other side.
"I... I don't understand," I whined.
"Is that really you?" She asked.
"Yes, it's me," I paused. "I miss you so much."
She nodded in agreement and swallowed dryly. I placed a paw against the invisible barrier as waves of green light started spreading out from where my paws touched it. Jay finally caught up with me, his breath coming in short rasps as he took in the situation.
"Zara?" He asked, pounding his paws against the wall, sending sparks of blue light dancing along the edges.
The force he applied make a huge crack throughout the wall, I suddenly felt dizzy.
"Stop, you're waking us up!" I screeched, I would stay asleep as long as possible if it meant seeing her.
"I don't care! She's right there Zach, help me!" He gasped, his voice sounding grief-stricken, he pounded on the glass-like structure again.
It shattered, sending bits of green, blue, and scarlet light everywhere. The last thing I saw were Zara's eyes.
I awoke with a gasp, a heaving shuddering breath as the last wisps of the dream left.
Everyone was asleep. Even Feurige and Ipa, who were thankfully wing free.
I roared in frustration and unsheathed my claws into the nearest tree. Bark came flying off, and I left deep gouges in the woods. I sniffed and wiped away the tears that had begun to fall.
That was the first time I had seen her in months. Zara had lost half her body weight, and the scars on her body made me shiver.
I had made those scars.
