Mika watched as both Sam and Jack talked. Jack seemed to enjoy his company, it could be for the fact that they are both guys.

Annabella, she was closed off from the group, she had been for the last few days, hardly talking to anybody, not even giving orders.

Thomas and his daughter were on guard.

They were waiting for Marcus to return, he had been sent to scout out the town. He was the strongest, aside from Thomas, of the group.

Mika sat in thought, it was like that with the whole group, they all could be categorized.

Marcus was strong in both senses, Thomas was brave and saw the good in people, Annabella was untrusting and skeptical of anyone she didn't know, Jack was childish and mischievous, Sam was silent and closed brooding, and Mika was tough and bossy.

Jack's chuckles echoed the room from what looked like Sam's reaction.
She glanced over to the two, Sam's face was rose red and eyes wide with surprise. She rolled her eyes to them as Sam's begging eyes found hers.

She groaned to herself and stood on numb feet. She hated the feeling of needles in her toes.
She stomped the tow of her boots into the ground to get some feeling back.
An awkward shuffle was her earned reward from the attempt.

Sam looked desperate as she took her merry time.

When she was feet away Jack took notice of her presence, "What?", he looked annoyed at at her all ready.

"Stop torrmenting him and see what food you can find in the vending machine. ", she says. He looked ready to protest but stopped when she mentioned the vending machine.

It was in the next room over, they would follow behind him to help keep an eye on the boy.

" So what did he do? ", she whispered. Jack picked away at the lock, smashing the glass would draw to much attention.

" He just made a few jokes. ", he says. His hands finding his pockets as Jack mumbled to himself about the lock.

She could see the intense red glow in his cheeks. She couldn't help but snort an unladylike laugh.

She had an idea of what he ment but wanted to mess with him still.

She calmed the laugh and forced to stay stoic.

"Like? ", she kept an innocent tone, years of practice taught her to lie the proper way.

" He...he just.", his hand scratched the back of his neck with nervousness.
"I-I...", she could tell he was going to never get the words out and decided to drop it for now.

"Its okay, I'm just bugging you... ", she smiled in his defeat. He calmed visibly as she dropped it.

" Yes! ", Jack exclaimed as the old vending machine was opened.

It had at least a dozen or so sweets and a few bag of chips.

There was whole row full of gum.
Cinnamon and mint, no wonder no one wanted it." A victory for today.", Mika smiled to seeing jack all the more happy of getting to eat stale chips and extremely old peanuts.

There would be a day where there would be no more stale chips though, she would hate that day.

"So how's your cut healing. ", she directed attention back to Sam.

" It's as good as its going to get... ", he put a hand to his stomach subconsciously.

" Oh... ", she says.
Before she could say more Annabella's voice cut her off.

" Stay in here ", she ordered.
It was the most she had said to them in hours. Jack was feeling daring and asked what's they all wanted to know.

" Why? ", Mika glanced back at the tween, sometimes he was just to stupid for his own good.

Annabella didn't even give a warning look, she just walked away.

She wanted to keep them away from something.

The cold atmosphere around the brunette was unavoidably scary.

A soon as she caught eye of the unnamed woman she introduced her self.

She didn't waste anytime to hitting the hilt of her holstered gun in the face of the unknown girl. She was knocked on the ground groaning with a gun pointed at her.

Stone eyes weighted on the woman.

"Hey! ", Marcus stepped in front of Annabellas gun. Dawn laid sprawled on the ground her nose throbbed from the hit.

" Who's the guest?", Alex mimicked Annabellas attitude.

She stared through Marcus as if he we not even there.

He ignored Alex. She didn't even have a place with them. She needed to be with the kids.

"Alex, go watch the others... ", Thomas had the right idea, he gave the girl a warning look before she left.

" Her name is Dawn... ", he says, his own steel standing on her face and to the gun. If he tried to snatched the gun away then he could get shot. She wouldn't miss either.

"This is Annabella. ", he gestured to her.

" Why is she here? ", Annabella asked, she was going to do the obvious and try to underhand her brother for real answers later.

" I found her locked in the closet of a store. She was alone. ", he explained.

Annabella lowered the gun. Her once over of the woman had her warming.

She was willing to listen" How long were you in there?", she inquired.

" Two-"
"I said her. ", she hissed at Marcus, her eyes filled suddenly with anger as he tried to answer for her.

He looked away in shame and bit his tongue.

" Two days.", Dawn says, not liking Annabella. The woman seemed to have his balls on a tight leash.

"Where are your supplies, I can assume that you didn't just get stuck in there on accident?",

"I had been traveling with a guy west. He turned on me, took my pack and left me for dead in that store. ", she crossed her arms letting out attitude to the woman that could be the one to end her life for good.

" And your still alive, so you have some strength. Fine. ", she stood and started to take off her jacket. Tossing it to Dawn.

Dawn took the jacket gratefully and starred to put it on, warm from Anna.

Marcus felt shock at what she had said." It will take only one wrong step and I'll have you dead and forgotten in the dirt for the infected to eat.", it was odd how the threat got across as if she hadn't said it like it was one.

She simply leaned in closet to Dawn so that she could hear. "Earn my trust, and do it slowly, is the only advice I will offer. Marcus wont be able to protect you anymore than he can himself from me and the others.", she looked Dawn in the eye, no eye squint or glares just a slight threat in a small voice.

She leaned against the wall, water damage apparent on the dull cream walls.

" I never asked... ", she begins feeling a tug at her seams."...how did my brother and sister first find you?", she had pondered the question for weeks now, it was all she really ever did; think.

"They found me in an office building, I had been chased by the infected up some stairs and I eventually found some lounge and hid there. They traced by messy trail and found me with my arm beneath the couch. ", he sighed out the story. She smirked to herself ; he had obviously thought the explanation and threw what to say should anyone ask.

" I've been with them since the beginning. ", she says. Her eyes fixed on focal point in the tile floor." I had been only seven and I was staying up past midnight, I had to share room with Annabella, she was supposed to go to collage in the fall but...life had other plans...",she went on telling her origins story to Sam.

He was silent all the way through, listening intently.
