He dripped blood on the street, Marcus gave Annabella a look.He was curious if he had been bitten, she nodded that she had checked his over.
They pulled off into the back of an open 18 wheelers trailer.
It would be a place to take a breather.
Marcus thought he would confront the kid before Annabella mauled him to nothing.
She sat at the opening of the trailer on guard whilst he and Sam were in the back.
Marcus put his bag down, he dint want to make the kid feel uncomfortable or nervous. Though he could tell that the kid already knew he wanted to ask him something.
"Are you bit...? ", he whispered the question to the teen.
Sam shook his head no, fearing what would happen if he didn't answer.
These people were to calm in this environment for his taste and it only made him all the more nervous with Annabella breathing down his neck with glares and such.
He still didn't know if he could trust them but didn't have much choice in the matter. Annabella had his knife as a precaution and Marcus was a little to friendly for his liking.
He just didn't know what to think.
"Then where's all that blood coming from... ", Marcus looked down at the brunette, the man a need an answer.
Sam didn't want to know what would happen if he didn't give one and just gave what he had.
" I-I tripped. ", he forced his words out, feeling ashamed of it. He felt pathetic more then anything.
" What? ", Marcus looked confused.
To give farther proof and understanding Sam pulled his shirt up as best he could.
Annabella listened closely to them.
If this was to satisfy Marcus' adopted pet then why not. She was ready to do what was needed and so far that was nothing. The kid was injured and was bleeding to much for the stalkers to simply ignore. She was surprised they weren't hot on their tail. He just needed to be patched up and then they would be on their way.
"Anna...", Her ears perked to her nickname, one only Marcus used.
She turned to them. Her blank face going from vacant to annoyed at the sight of the kids tattered stomach.
She spotted one particular piece of glass.
"We need to get back to the apartment if you want him to live.", she says.
Sam seemed insulted by her choice of words but relieved the she hadn't opted on killing him.
"Mika and I can have a better look and pull it out easy. ", she says.
Who was Mika?, he thought.

I was just waking up, the usual smell of death hung heavier than usual today.
I rolled over on the old blanket that was my bed.
I slept away from the group at night. I liked the distance, and not matter how many times Annabella would yell at me that it was unsafe, I still did it.
It was as close to alone as I could get.
Being stuck with your family all the time is suffocating. Not an hour after waking I could already hear the damn arguing of Alex and Jack.
They were apart of the group and had been for a while now.Alex was about 20, she was Thomas's daughter.
Jack was 11 or so and also Thomas's offspring.
The way we endocrine people into the ground is by an interview, Marcus and Annabella had gotten to interview Thomas and Alex separate.
Marcus had Alex and Annabella had Marcus.
I had jack. He was mouthy and obnoxious, its hard to find that in people nowadays.
In some ways I envied that kid.
At the conclusion of the interviews we talk to each other about them and make a final decision as a group.
There was a reason we had made it so long. We didn't trust anyone.
The door to our place was a busted red iron sheet of metal.
It was a simple area that was sufficient for now. It was closed off except for a demolished room.
It wall was knocked down and below was a 7 story drop.
The view was something though...I don't know if it was the growing green jungle over the old concrete or all the pools that collected in ditches, I liked it.
There was a pounding at the door, it nearly made me fall over the edge.
The layout of out place was a main room with a pit dug in to the tile flooor, the fire was currently burning.
A small closet with old manuals for selling computers we used to burn and the broken room. There wasn't much to see and I was hardly aloud out of any of our camps.
Only with Alex and Jack they were a new excuse.
I watched from the demolished rooms doorway as. Thomas opened the door.
It was heavy to put it short.
It took both Marcus and Thomas nearly four hours just to get the way it was.He pulled on the iron to allow our people through. Annabella was the first to enter.
She squeezed through the gap as did Marcus.Though I didn't expect a third.
I rose my gun in a heart beat.
