Hole In The Wall

My hair was in a nasty braid that hadn't been washed for days. Often I was invited to dunk my head in some berral for rainwater but I would shun it away in disgust. I missed showers and bathing more the better food sometime...

"Just cut it. ", I hear an uninvited voice chime in and shriek, my and grasped my pathetic little gun and aimed at the one who intruded.

I had been alone in the empty bathroom of a deserted motel.

I guess the hole in the wall meant that everyone could just walk in, the sarcasm ever present in though.

The hands were halted in coming peace." Sam!", I gasped his name, that turd was taking any chance he saw to scare me, I don't care if it was an, ' accident!'

I lowered the gun, a breath of relief. "What the hell are you doing in here?!", I still on edge.
" I claimed this for myself.", I plopped the gun back onto my pack on the toilet and gave a defeated sigh, my weight dropping to the side of the tub.

"Anna-"

"Of course Annabella sent you. ", I grumbled in annoyance my arms crossed and legs followed, I felt my cheeks getting warm. He saw my hair shitty.

" What does she want? ", I demand, he seemed defeated as well, his eyes were still sunken in and face paler than usual.
Something was eating at him.

" She uh-she wanted to talk to you...that's it. ", he fumbled with his words and rubbed the back of his neck as a nervous tick.

" Fine. ", I say.

I lifted myself from the tub and walked past him through the hole in the wall.

He could have knocked...

" Its becoming a habit. ", I try to make small chat as we made way to Annabella's room.
" What is? ", he obvious to things were clichés on his part as a guy.

I allowed myself smirk. " Me pointing gun at you. ", my humor was cut short by the door coming up, it was already open.

I didn't get to hear or see Sam's response to my humor as Thomas and Annabella moved out of the room, one stood with authority and the other restless with a tapping toe.

He must have left from a look given to him by one of them because when I looked back Sam was gone.

" Mika. ", my sister called my attention.

I was led in ominously. I felt like I did when I was 6 and was sent to the principles office.
I'd pinched another girl and had been suspended for two days.

The door closed behind me. It's hinges squeaking as it did so and the a click.

Sam fled the moment Anna looked at him, she thought he had the wrong intentions and wanted him out of the group, same for the new girl.

He hardly knew her. Aside from her name, that was it. She was always at Marcus' side or behind him.

He had not wrong intentions with Mika either. She was his first friend in a long time, a breath of fresh air in all this pollution. The first to take a notice in things.

Her joke about her pointing gun at him had him in the red, the reality in it was a sore spot.

Last person to point gun at him had been man. The small man to leave him in that office building and leave him to the infected.

Not wanting to brood, Sam glanced back at the way he had came. The pathway taken with dead brown weeds and dirt.

He had to dodge a few vines to return to the cleared courtyard.
