You were walking through the park with your friends. You laughed and smiled your way through the heartbreaking subject they were talking about...Mother's Day. You didn't have a mom. No, your parents weren't divorced. No, your mother didn't die. You had two fathers. Two fathers that adopted you and loved you through the fifteen years of your life. Your friends were pretty nice to your situation. But, that didn't stop them from not talking about they're lives...lives with a mom and a dad. You were never bullied by others in class, they understood. The only problem was that, it was you that couldn't accept it. You always wanted to feel normal. Like you belong somewhere. Not just a stray who ended up with a different life. You were happy that Cole and Jay liked each other. At the same time you hated it. You swung your bag around and reached in to grab your diary. Yes, diary. Who writes on paper anymore? You gasped when you felt nothing.
"Sorry guys. I left something at school."you gasp.
"It's okay. We'll see you tomorrow Y/N."B/F/N smiles.
You nod and run out of the park. You turned a corner and ran into the school. You were glad the door was still open and looked around to see you were the only one there...or so you thought. Passing through seemingly empty hallways sent chills through your spine. The loneliness felt so foreign. You reached the corner and turned to see your locker. You froze and your shoes squeaked as you saw the higher classmen laughing as they held your diary. They face you with huge smirks on their faces.
"I think this belong to you Y/N."chuckles the taller one.
"Yes. It does. Now can I have it back."you say bluntly."Please."
"When did she become a bitch?"smirks the other dude."Have it."
He threw it toward you. Really, he whipped it at you. It made full impact to your face and just to be clear, a hundred paged hard cover book HURTS. You took a knee and put a hand over your now bleeding nose.
"Oh, did we hurt you? Some ninja."laughs the guys.
Tears welled up in your e/c eyes as you grabbed your diary and turned around.
"You're such a pussy! Just like your DADS!"
You stopped and clenched your fists. How dare they say that to you?! You turned around and socked the tall guy in the jaw. The other threw a punch to your side but you quickly fought back and kneed him in the stomach. You kicked the two with all your might until they were both laying on the ground groaning in pain. You huffed and turned around.
"Yeah, some ninja."you sigh.
You walk back the way you came and slammed the door open. You trudged back home through the pouring rain and closed panel in Steep Wisdom.
"How was school Y/N?"asks your father Jay.
"It was great!"you smile, but you knew it was going to be hard to mask the pain any longer.
"Great! Your father is training in the, well you know, training room if you need him."he says.
You nod and walk to your room. You looked into the makeup mirror to see that your nose stopped bleeding thankfully, and it wasn't broken. You groaned and rubbed you side. You lifted up your shirt to see a purple bruise near your hip. You ignored it knowing that it would heal soon. You started on your homework until there was a knock on your door.
"Come in."you sigh.
You stand up from your desk to see your dads walk in both looking pretty worried.
"Y/N, we just got a call from the principal. You were in a fight today weren't you?"asks Cole.
"Yeah...but it was totally their fault."you vaguely explain.
"We know. But there has to be a reason."says Jay.
"Well...they were making fun of you two. Being together."you explain.
"That doesn't matter. What matters is if you're okay with us being together."smiles Cole."Are you?"
"Of course I am. No matter what, I love you both."you smile back.
You jump into both your fathers arms, feeling your doubt slowly melt away.
