You were meditating by yourself outside the shop. Far away from most of the action that was happening in there.

"GIVE ME BACK MY COMB JAY!"

"NU-UH! THIS HAIR IS AMAZING! WHEN YOU'RE READY COME AND GET IT! TRY GETTING IT KAI!"

"Dang, Selena Gomez again? Really?"

Not far enough apparently. You were the cold one of the group. No pun intended Zane. Most people thought you were like that all the time. You really wanted that comment to be true. Weakness was something you hated, showing it was even worse. Loving someone was a weakness. You were the Ninja of Darkness, perfect persona right? But, deep down you had a secret. A secret...crush? You fell in love with Kai. The hotheaded of the group made your stomach flutter every time you see him. Of course you denied it. You weren't a tsundere, you never wanted to show your warm side toward anyone. You didn't act that way to anyone specifically either. You sigh wrapping up your mat and walking back inside the shop.

"Hey Y/N!"greets Jay.

You ignore him and walk to your room next door. You actually liked it since you were able to eaves-drop on the others in the living room.

"She never says hi."he grunts.

"I don't think I've even heard Y/N laugh."chuckles Kai."She's probably just shy."

"Shy? You've got to be eff-ing kidding me."you say changing into your pi's.

"Yeah, what's up with her? She's been like this ever since we met her. Family problems maybe?"thinks Lloyd.

Well, they weren't off. Your parents loved you ever since you were born. Even telling you how proud they were when they heard you were becoming a ninja. But, S/N(sibling's name) wasn't so lucky. Dying a quick death by the serpentine a few years back. Now that was probably what took out the joy in life.

"Yeah...anyway, anyone wanna watch a movie?"asks Cole.

You turn off you lights and grab your laptop. This was the only thing that let you express who you really are through your little blog online. Surprisingly you were pretty popular in some places. Having opportunities for a promising career. But, like before...you can't show your warm side. After having your time you shut down your laptop and slam your head into your pillow. Hearing the rain slam onto the window frame. Little to know what would happen tomorrow.

~Next Morning~

"Mail call!"shouts Zane from the front.

You cover your face with your pillow with a grunt. You barely even slept last night. There was a knock on your door. You stand up and open it to see Zane. He hands you a letter and you slam the door in his face not welcoming a morning conversation.

"Damn, even Zane."chuckles Cole.

You roll your eyes and put the letter on the table. You never got many letters, at least not physical letters. You open it up and read it in your head:

Mrs. L/N,

We are sorry to inform you that your parents M/F/N L/N, and your father F/F/N L/N, have been involved in a car crash yesterday. We have uncovered the bodies and it has been confirmed that they are deceased. There will be a reception tomorrow at New Ninjago City. We are sorry for your loss.

You reread the letter again, and again, and again. All your emotions bottled up inside formed in a single tear, crawling down your face. You quickly recovered and put the letter into your dresser. You walked out of your room and out of the shop. Watching as the others had fun playing video games. You walked out to the waterfall where Ronin was cleaning R.E.X. You've known Ronin for a long time, making him really the only person that you talk too.

"What's wrong?"he asks sitting next to you.

"Everything."you state."My parent died."

"Sorry for your loss."he sighs."I still don't get why people say that."

You knew his goal in life was to make you laugh. If not just smile. That was everyone's really. To make you smile. Heck, Cole even tried to tickle you. That made him go to the hospital and get a cast for his arm...and leg. It was his fault though.

"I'm going to leave tomorrow. I'll tell the others."you say walking back inside."Bye Ronin."

You step inside and stood by the doorway, leaning against the doorframe as you waited for the other's attention.

"What's up Y/N?"asks Jay.

You just gave him an empty stare that made him shut up.

"My parents died and I'm going to their funeral tomorrow."you state."Just wanted you to know."

"Sorry for your loss Y/N."replies Kai.

You stared back at him and left the room without another word. He thought you didn't notice. But you did. You saw the love, the regret in his eyes. But you secretly shoved the butterflies down. You went to your room and slammed your head against the pillow. Letting out the tears you've held for so long. You never cried. You never cried, ever. You felt someone's hand on your shoulder and you quickly lifted your head and flipped the person onto your wall.

"Hey! Y/N!"yelps Kai rubbing his head."It's just me goddammit!"

"Why are you here?"you ask.

"Were you...crying?"he asks back not answering your question.

You back up and and sat down on your bed.

"No..."you state.

"Well, it sure looked like you did."he sighs."I won't tell anyone. I promise."

"You better."you say.

"I just came here to tell you something."he smiles."That I love you."

"I love you too."you whisper.

You stared back up at him and smiled the softest smile. To anyone it was a normal smile. To Kai, it was breath taking. It was beautiful. And no one would ever love you the same way he did.
