Chapter 9
"We live to die,." Angie whispered to herself
Andy was running in the streets, heading to the direction of where Angie's house once stood. The sun was already gone, and the moon was rising.
"and then we die to live. That's what he's been saying this whole time."
Andy was already tired, but he couldn't stop running now. No, he had to hurry and find Angie.
"If I die. Will I live a new life? If his theory works, then I will. If it doesn't. . .then that's unfortunate."
Andy stood at the black mark on the ground. Small groups of ashes were still hidden in the grass. Andy was now wondering where she was.
The wind was blowing, whistling at Andy. The grass move with the wind, dancing. Andy lowered his head in defeat.
He looked at the notebook tucked under his armpit.
"Want to find her?" A voice whispered with the wind.
Andy gulped and replied, "Yes."
"The beach. Look for her there."
Andy looked around and asked, "Who are you?"
"Look behind you." The voice answered.
Andy turned around, and Isaac stood there. Eye contact started.
"You're. . .me." Andy said, taking a step forward.
Isaac grinned and said, "Don't waste your time talking to me. Go. Find her."
Andy took off running. He bolted through Isaac, who then faded away with the wind.
Angie sat in a circle of big black boulders, beside the water. She sat in the center, where the boulders curved down to a flat surface.
She just sat there, looking down at the sharp rock beside her foot.
She picked it up, and began rotating it in her hand. She examined the cracks and chips into the rock. The sharp point was good enough to cut.
"Wait! Angie!" A familiar voice shouted.
Angie looked up, and saw Andy running towards her. She stood up, and released a smile. "Andy!"
Andy squeezed through the boulders, and sat beside Angie. He pulled out his journal, and opened it.
"Listen! There's something you must read!" Andy panted, flipping towards the end. He found the passage of Alexandra's life, and passed it to Angie.
"Read it."
After an exact 10 minutes of reading, Angie was gripping into her head.
Andy was staring at her in suprise.
"Why the hell does my head hurt so much?!" Angie cried out.
Andy stood up and stuttered, "Angie. . .you. . ." The words was too difficult to say.
"You are Alexandra. This. . .doesn't even make sense!"
Angie groaned one final time, before her whole body shut down. Andy looked at her, and bent down. He began to shake her. "Angie?" He asked.
Wings began flapping behind him. Andy turned around, and saw the familiar face of the Angel. A bullet wound was in the forehead of the Angel. "Here to finish me off?" Andy asked.
The Angel smiled and shook his head. "No," he explained, "i'm here to make a final deal."
Andy took a breath and asked, "What deal?"
"We can leave you alone, this all can end. You just have to burn the journals and remain silent. If you do, you will have lots of luck on your side. We can help you a lot."
Andy shook his head and gave a small smile. "I can't. . .but Max. We have to stop him, right? He can't get away with this." Andy responded.
"We can't kill a demon. . ." The Angel sighed. Andy turned away, and looked down at Angie.
"Can you keep her somewhere safe for me?" Andy asked.
"Yes we can, but what are you going to do?" The Angel asked.
Andy clenched his fists and asked, "Even killing the evilest of men, is that still a sin?"
The Angel approached Angie, and picked her up in his arms. "There are ways of ridding evil men than killing." The Angel said softly.
"I have another question, regarding Angie." Andy added, looking at Angie silent face.
The Angel looked up and nodded.
"How can she be the Reborn form of Alexandra?" Andy asked.
The Angel smiled and explained, "Alexandra died giving birth. Angie, the baby, almost died as well. Atleast. . .until I switched the souls. I am her guardian Angel. . .its unfortuante that her baby truly never lived."
Andy gave a shaky nod.
The Angel flapped his wings, hovering into the air, and then began to fly into the night sky.
He ran back towards his apartments, running across empty and silent streets. "This is the end." He chanted to himself.
Just up the street of his apartment, Andy stopped dead in his tracks. Max and his goons stood outside, Isabella in their grasp.
Two men held Isabella to the ground, on her knees. Max stood infront of her, squatting.
"Where is he?" Max asked, looking at the bruised face of Isabella he created.
"I-I don't know!" Isabella cried out.
Max slapped her in the face, and then stood up. "Well i'm sorry then." He laughed, pulling out his now silver revolver and aiming it at Isabella's forehead.
A loud gunshot echoed in the streets.
The two men walked away from Isabella, now on the ground. Max laughed, and cocked his revolver. "Damn revolver has lost it's touch." He groaned, seeing the silver frame instead of the royal gold.
Andy was at this point, approaching a nearby truck, across the street from Max . A red truck with a robust build. The driver's door was open already, with a blood trail leading to an alleyway.
Andy entered into the truck, and saw the keys were still in the ignition. He looked out the passenger window, and saw Max and his goonies entering into the car.
Andy ducked his head, trying to hide.
Andy was grabbed by a strong force, and thrown out of the truck. He landed against a street light pole, releasing a cry of pain. He looked up, only to see another demon standing by the truck.
Max stomped from the back of the truck, his revolver already up. He blasted a bullet into the back of the demon's head, causing it to fall over.
"We only got about 5 minutes before it wakes up. Start the car!" Max cocked his revolver, and aimed the barrel down at Andy's forehead.
Another demon suddenly appeared, and stabbed Max in his chest. Max groaned, and turned around to pistol whip the demon.
Andy stood up, and bolted into the truck. He quickly started up the engine, while Max kicked the demon to the ground and shot it in the head.
Andy sped away from the scene, leaving Max and his goons in a mess. Max's car was revveved up already, with his two men sitting in their seats.
Max entered into the driver seat, and began to chase after Andy.
"Tommy, call the rest of the men." Max ordered.
