Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep! Beep beep! Sleepily, I reach over and shut up the annoying noise. Waking up from the sound of my alarm, I groan and stretch. 6:03 a.m. Great. I hop out of bed, going to get take a quick shower. Finished, I get dressed in jeans and a dark blue t shirt. I run a comb through my hair before  going downstairs.

I sit down at the table next to my father as my mom dishes me up some toast and eggs. My dad flips through the mail quietly before stopping at one. I continue eating as my mom sits on the other side of my dad.

My dad clears his throat, tossing a letter at me. Stanford university. I had applied, wanting to go into the veterinarian program, though I probably won't make it. It's not that I have bad grades, my grades are really good. But thousands of people send in requests, and only a select few get in.

I rip it open, and skim through it. It says,

"Dear Lucas Friar. Thank you for your application to Stanford University. We are pleased to inform you that you have been excepted into the veterinarian program. School starts on September 1, 2018. Please come in two weekends advance to set up your dorm and get accustomed to your new surroundings. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Mr. Belnap head administrator of Stanford University."

"What does it say, hon?" Asks my mom looking over at me from her cup of coffee.

 "I. I got in."

"Well that's too bad you'll- wait what?!"

"I got in. I have been accepted to Stanford University in California."

"Honey that's great! You'll have so much fun! I'm sure gonna miss you!" She says, kissing my forehead.

"Thanks mom. Well I gotta run. See you later." I say, hurrying out the door to my car. I got in. I still couldn't believe it.
