Forever and Always

Maya

When I arrive in New York, it's like coming home. I spot an older version of Riley waiting for me as I step off the airplane. She's gotten taller, I'd guess around 5'7", and her hair is longer too, about halfway down her back. She smiles and I rub up to her, giving her the biggest hug I can manage.

"I've missed you so much!" I muffle into her shoulder, tears pouring down my face.

"I've missed you too!"

"Where's Farkle?"

"He's helping his groomsmen get fitted for their tuxes. Which reminds me, we need to go get you fitted for your bridesmaid dress. We can drop off your things, then pick up Ava and Smackle."

"Ava and Smackle are your bridesmaids?"

"Yes, but YOU'RE my maid of honor."

"So then who are the groomsmen?"

"The best man is Lucas, and the other two are Auggie and Zay."

"Wait. Lucas is the best man and I'm the maid of honor?"

"Yes..."

"Riley! I told you we're not getting back together. It's just too awkward."

"Okay if that's how you feel."

"Yes it is."

"Sure it is peaches."

"Can we just get going? These bags are getting heavy."

We drop off my things and pick up Ava and Smackle. When we arrive at the tailors, I'm immediately shoved into a changing room, a pink frilly dress and sparkly heels along with me. I get dressed quickly, and the tailor goes to work.

"Riley I look like a princess." I complain as the tailor shoves different pins into the dress, snitching it tighter around my waist.

"Well duh. I'm having a princess style wedding."

I sigh and endure the torture of the tailoring. Finally finished, we go back to Riley's childhood apartment where we hold the bridal shower.

"So how did Farkle ask you?" I ask Riley after about a week that I've been here. She looks over at me, and she smiles.

"It was a really rainy day, and all the lights in my apartment went out, but I don't know. So when I got home, it was pitch black. Yet there was a small light in the corner. It was a candle, with lots of other little candles making a pathway to the balcony. There was candles all around, and our song was playing and he set up my favorite dinner, which he made, and he got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him."

"Awe that's so cute!"

"I know!!!"

"Okay show me the ring!" I exclaim. She holds out her hand to reveal the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. It's definitely made just for Riley, it looks like something a princess would wear. Hence the fact that it's a princessy type wedding.

We chat for a little while then slowly drift off to sleep. I can't believe my little Riley is getting married tomorrow.
