I run home, thinking about all that he said. We're meant to be together, that I can see but...how? Why? Maybe he's right and it is Destiny but how can I be sure? That man in my dream was right about the ultimate sacrifice. I could see how hard it was for Lucas by looking in his eyes.

I remember when I was walking with Riley one day in 9th grade. It was a rainy day, and I had forgotten a jacket, and Lucas gave me his to wear. "Maya?" She asked, looking at me. "Yeah?" "I want you to be happy." "Thanks Riles. I want you to be happy too." "No. I mean the way that Lucas looked at you today. It's...his eyes were so full of love and hope. Like he knew he was going to be married to you one day or something." "Well I guess we'll just have to see what fate has in store." "Yeah. The thing is you have that same look too." "What?" "When you look at Lucas, your eyes are so full of love and compassion for him. You guys are like magnets. You kept on slowly migrating to each other as you stood next to each other." "Really? I haven't noticed." She leans her head on my shoulder and says, "I just hope he treats you right." "Me too." I say.

Maybe it all feel through then. People are people after all. Sometimes people change their minds. It's just weird. How can he know that it's Destiny this early? We broke up. We've fought. We haven't talked in 3 years. Why is it now that he decides to say he loves me?

Suddenly, my phone rings, making me jump. "Hello?" I ask. I didn't bother to look at the number since I got scared. "Hey is this Maya?" Asks the voice. It's a voice I would recognize anywhere. "Riley?" I ask in disbelief. I hadn't talked to her in almost 4 years. "Yeah. It's me peaches."
