Chapter 1

It was the first day of 7th grade I did my usual routine I got got dressed went down for breakfast and I waited for Maya to walk to school with me. Maya walks in , as she usually does, and we leave for school. We took our usual route and as we walked by the bakery we got a whiff of something that smelled amazing she had just backed her "famous" muffins. So we just had to stop hoping that we wouldn't be late to school. We had finally gotten to school we had just made it. We go to our first class did I mention that my dad is the History teacher... again. We get into class and sit in our favorite spots. Farkle usually set behind me but he decided to sit behind Maya today
"Good morning class" my dad said "today we have a new student today everyone welcome Lucas Friar"
The moment I looked into his eyes I immediately fell in love with him. He came and set right behind me I looked at him
" Hi I'm Riley"
"Hey"
*Bell Rings*
I walked over to my locker and before I could even open it Maya looks at me and says
" You like him"
"No I don't" I tell her trying to hide that I do because I new she would make a big deal about it
"Yes you do" She tells me
"I have to get to class" I tell her trying to avoid answering her. She new I was avoiding it I could tell but I couldn't tell her that I liked him.
"Riley just tell me that you like him"
"I don't like him" I exclaimed! my face starting to blush as I realized that the whole class could hear me and that Lucas was right behind me.
I set in silence for the rest of that class.
*Bell Rings*
"Riley why won't you just admit you like him"
"Because I don't like him" I told her
"Yes you do why won't you just admit it"
"Maya just drop it we will talk about it later" I told her
"Fine"
We heading off to class. After that we heading off to lunch me and Maya were sitting at our table when she asked me once again
"You like him don't you"
"Maya I told you I would talk to you later about it"
"Riley it is later" she yelled at me
"You know what I meant just stop bugging me about it"
" Riley just tell me it's not a big deal" she yelled at me
"I don't like him" I yelled back
"Riley I know you do just admit it" she exclaimed
"FINE I LIKE HIM" I yelled! My face turned bright As I realized Lucas had hear the whole thing and was standing right there. I was so embarrassed that I ran out of the lunch room. Maya came running after me. Frakle and Lucas tried following but she told them to stay back
"Riley come out we need to talk" Maya calmly said
"No I'm to embarrassed he heard that whole thing everyone did he know I like him now" I said trying to hold back my tears.
"I bet know one heard they all to focused on there own group of friends" Maya told me trying to make me feel better.
"Even if they didn't hear me Lucas did and now he knows and he's only been here for less than a day I probably scared him off now hill never like me"
"Riles we need to get to class you have to come out"
"Okay" I came out whipping tears from my face and walked with Maya to my next class
*Bell Rings*
It was finally the end of the day I could go home and try to forget this day ever happened
"He Riley can we talk" Lucas asked me
"Ya sure" I answered him hopping it wasn't about what happened at lunch
"I was wonder I got if you and Maya wanted to hang out with me and Farkle"
"Ya that sounds like a lot of fun where should we go" I asked him
"I don't know where is the best place to hang out?"
"We could go the my moms bakery" I told him. Even though it wasn't technically my moms backers the owner had given it to her because she new that she would take good care of it and make it a great hang out.
"Ya that sound like a lot of fun" he told me
So we all walked to the bakery and hung out for along time we told Lucas about all the great places to go here in New York and the people to watch out for like Missy. Missy is the schools mean girl she thinks she's the best of the best and that she should get what she wants when she wants it. We told him that she goes out with all the guys and does and says that she will make them popular but never does because she always finds someone "better".
Maya had walked me back to my apartment and we went to the bay window.
"Riles why didn't you just tell me you liked him why did you try to keep it from me" she asked
"Because I knew you would make a big deal about it and would make it obvious when I was around him" I told her
"Riles your my best friend I would never embarrass you. You do that on you own" she told me trying to cheer me up
I started to giggle " I know"
" You know you can tell me anything" she told me
"I knew and you know that you can tell me anything right"  I told her
"I know! Ring power"
