*chapter 1*

**Lexi's POV**

I grabbed my books and walked to my locker as the bell rang. That was the final class for the day, and praise Jesus it was! I put in my combo and opened the locker up. Inside I looked at some of my pictures of me and Andy. Yes Andy, from Knives and Pens. The Black Veil Bride himself. We were best friends for as long as I can remember! I grabbed my Latin book and headphones and shut my locker and ofcourse locked it. Then I saw Andy walking down the hall.

"Why, hello. How was your day miss?" He asked as he bowed next to me. "Why it was splendid, yours?" I replied in the same manner. He just looked and smiled at me. Well it was Friday, and they're usually pretty good since all me and Andy do is go an play music in the band hall all day long. Yeah our band director Mrs. Mullins is amazing and she likes our music too.

"So what are you doing tonight?" Andy asked me. "We'll I gotta go put all my stuff up, ummm, clean my room a little bit....why?" I asked back. "We'll maybe you and I can go do something?" He said smiling. "Like what?" "Bowling! Yeah, let's go bowling." He said excitedly and awaited my response. "Sure why not?" I said smiling my big southern grin. Yeah before you ask I'm southern, born in Mississippi until I was 7 then I moved to Ohio when my dad left us. Sad, I know but you get used to it....

**later that day**

**Andy's POV**

I walked Lexi home. I really did like her. Just the way she smiled and her cute little accent. It's adorable on her petite body. She's just so sweet. I don't see how anyone could ever abuse her. Just like her dad. He was an ass anyways. But the stories she told me about how he would tie her to a chair and hit her with a baseball bat and other random stuff that would hurt. He even threw another chair at her. If I ever met him, all hell would break loose.

"So what do you think?" She asked me. ".....yeah that's great..." I said not knowing what the hell we were talking about. "You weren't paying attention again, ugh...... I said what if we didn't go to my house and just went to yours instead?" She asked again. "But all your stuff, and I wanted to see your mom and how your little puppy was doing.." I said sadly. "What, are you trying to hide something?" I asked her and she tensed up immediately. "No why would you say that?" She tried to cover it up, but something weird was going on...

"Okay..." I just shrugged it off, but it still rested at the back of my mind, nagging me with each step.

As we got to Lexi's house there were boxes in the garage. Strange. We just walked inside and went upstairs into Lexi's room. Her room is so cool! It has white walls with music notes all over it. And one wall even has a whole staff painted in chalk so she can write music as she pleased. She threw her stuff onto her bed and plopped down into her chair. I did the same and squished myself into the chair with her, which kinda ended up with her sitting on my lap....

Lexi smelled really good....like vanilla, and coffee, and sugar, and all of this good stuff wrapped into one amazing smell. And her long red hair was down to the middle of her back and it was slightly wavy. She turned towards me and flicked her beautiful green eyes open, her long black eyelashes fluttering with them. Her eyes were simply lined with black eyeliner and had a light shimmery gold eyeshadow. I would know I bought it for her.

"Andy..." She started and looked away. "I-I'm leaving...." A tear slid down her soft pink cheek. "What?" I said not quite comprehending what she was saying. "I'm moving back to Mississippi." Tears were liberally falling down her cheeks and she took her hands and covered her face. She stood up, leaving where she was sitting cold and empty. I stood up too and walked over towards her. "You can't leave me here alone, I don't know what I'd do..." I started saying but she just kept crying and crying. So i turned her around and hugged her tight. "A-Andy, I-I can't leave you. I c-can't..... It's too much to leave...." She buried her face into my chest and started shaking. "Hey, no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you." I told her as a tear slid down my face. I looked down at her and she looked up at me. Our eyes slowly connected into a silent understanding. I leaned in and she, hesitantly, leaned in too. Our lips touched slightly, then she turned away and looked at the floor. "Andy, I can't do this with me about to leave..." She said as she backed away and leaned on the door. "Wait, when are you leaving?" "In a week..." She said. "Next Tuesday to be infact." Next Tuesday was the last day of school, then summer break would be here. "Are we still going bowling....?" I asked finally. She looked up at me and smirked, "Sure."
