Chapter 4
Casey couldn't sleep that night, she was too excited. The next day she checked her facebook. There was one message from Collin. "Hey did you hear back yet?" Casey bit her lip, she wasn't supposed to answer that question. "Yes... I got Jan!" she decided she could trust Collin. "Really? That's funny because I got Justin." He said. "Really? So I guess see you at the read through?" she asked. "Yup see you then." he replied. Casey couldn't believe it. She was in another show with Collin and they were once again playing lovers! She was just about to log off Facebook when she got a friend request. "Karen Taylor wants to be your friend." Casey laughed. "So Karen did get a Facebook." she thought.
The read through was set to be held October 2nd and Casey couldn't wait. Karen had not gotten in the show, which Casey was of course sad about, but Collin had and she also her that Max and Nate were in it too. She honestly could not wait to spend more time with Collin. When October 2nd finally came she spent an hour picking out the perfect outfit then drove to Roxy's house for the read through. "Casey!" Roxy said hugging her. "Thank you so much for coming." "Than you so much for giving me the role!" she replied. She looked around the room until she saw Nate and Max. She said hello and hugged them both then sat in an empty chair by the corner. A few minutes before the read through started Collin strolled in. He looked around the room then looked at Casey. He headed over to where she was sitting. "Casey." he nodded. "Hi Collin." She smiled brightly. "Hello." He said blankly. She was kind hurt by this. Why was he acting so strange? the read through began and ended. And Collin left without saying goodbye. Casey was confused. "What just happened?" she kept thinking as she drove home.
The next rehearsal wasn't until October 11th. That's the day Casey found out she had an understudy. Her name was Molly and she seemed nice enough at first but Casey saw her batting her eyes at Collin. Collin had decided to actually talk to Casey this time, which only confused her more. "What is he playing at?" she thought. As the rehearsals continued to progress Casey became very close to a girl named Cathy. She was playing her sister in the show and soon enough they were acting like actual sisters. By tech week Casey told her how she felt about Collin, who had finally stopped playing his little "we aren't friends" game and actually gave her the time of day. "Well you should try to tell him. You know that tech week always brings a cast closer together. Use it to get closer to Collin." Cathy advised her. "Okay, I will try it." Casey nodded.
And so Casey made it her goal to talk to Collin. They sat backstage and talked and then texted at home. Along the way Casey met a girl named Annie and her sister Jo. They were both nice, Jo was really funny and Annie was meant to be with Nate. Casey and Collin finally started talking like they used to in Little Mermaid. "So I wanted your opinion. Roxy said I could pick either one of these two dresses for the party scene." Casey told Collin backstage. "Okay so try them on, I'll help you pick." Collin nodded towards the dressing room. Casey slipped into the first one which was long and black. She left the dressing room and Collin smiled. "why are you smiling?" she asked. "Because, you look wonderful." he said. Casey smiled. "Oh stop it, your gonna make me blush." she rolled her eyes. "Okay now show me dress two." He said. "What is this ? A private fashion show for one?" Casey asked with her hands on her hips. "It is when I'm that one." Collin winked. Casey rolled her eyes and then changed into dress two. It was a long, sparkly, emerald green dress that hugged her figure. When Casey walked out Collin stared at her. "That's the one." he said. "You really think so?" Casey asked. "Yes, I am right about most things, and this is for sure one of those things." Collin said still staring at her. "Try not to drool." she said catching his gaze. "Me drool? Never!" Collin teased. Casey changed back into her normal clothes. "Thanks for helping me." Casey smiled. "No problem." Collin smiled back at her.
