Chapter 7

Casey smiled. Collin had drive her home and kissed her once more before she got out the car. She sighed once she was inside and leaned against the closed door of her house. She had no idea how she would feels about tomorrow. Tomorrow was closing night, the cast party was to be right after. Casey had no idea how she was going to say goodbye. She hoped to see her newly found friends soon, and of course her and Collin would see each other.

The next day came and went faster them Casey had wanted it to. The cast party was sad, sadder than another other. She cried. It had truly been the best cast she had ever worked with. Even more so than Little Mermaid, we she had met so many great friends too. There was just something different about this cast. Collin drove her home again that night. "So when will I see you?" she asked. "When? Well maybe next weekend." he said. "Okay, I'll text you." she nodded. "Goodnight Casey." he said. "Night." she replied and exited his car. The next day she texted him, but got no response. He responded the day after saying he was working the day before. She texted back "That's okay, so this weekend... Are we still on??" He replied an hour later. "Uh, sorry I actually am working. I can't hang this weekend." Casey was disappointed but responded. "Okay, next weekend?" Collin responded with "Maybe." Then didn't text her back.

Days and days went on like this. Weekends would pass by and Collin would be "too busy" for her. Casey remembered crying so often that she frequently was asked if she was alright. She couldn't help but think of him constantly. Everything reminded her of some memory they shared. But as time went on, so slowly recovered. Finally March came around, the time for the spring show auditions at BCP Theatre. The show was Hansel and Gretel. Casey decided she'd like to play the witch in it. The night before she was tempted to text Collin, who she had stopped contacting only a month earlier. She just had stopped texting him, and he never bothered to try to text her, so she just gave up. She typed a message asking if he was going to audition, but deleted it before sending it.

The next day she next to auditions and saw Karen and Jo and Annie. She greeted them all. Karen didn't know Jo or Annie so Casey introduced them. The four girls all say together and waited for more people to show up to audition. Casey decided she wanted to get some water from the lobby. She stood up and headed into the lobby. As she entered, Collin walked through the front door. She paused and stared at him. All of the memories from that Christmas came flooding back. Shall the talks they had backstage, all the fun and playful arguments, all the practical jokes, all the silent whispers shared... Collin walked towards her and with one word he broke her. "Casey." he said.
