Instead I was watching Liam and Dane, bloodied and beaten, being chained.

"Where are they!?" A voice snarled. The sound niggled at the back of my mind. Neither angel answered, glaring silently at the voice.

"Hmm...not gonna talk? Alright then."

The man stepped out and it was the man from my dreams. Lucifer. He stepped toward Liam and gripped one wing I. His hands. A snap echoed through the room followed by Liam's tortured howl and Danes enraged growl. The last glimpse I had was Liam's limp, useless wing. Zeke's face slowly became clear as Liam's howl rang in my ears.

"Kira?"

His eyes smoldered with worry.

"Liam....Dane..." I gasped.

"What? What about them? Kira, you're so pale. What did you see?"

"Lucifer has them. Chained. Beaten. Liam's wing...snapped...in pain...tortured. He wants us and they aren't talking. We need to help them..."

He was one step ahead. His wide wings shot out as he grabbed me. I slumped into his arms and he stroked my hair.

"You are so brave. I hope you still want me after this."

My brows furrowed but before I could reply, Isaac stormed in. His white wings were spread wide and the feathers were traced in gold. There was a slight glow to them as they stretched and quivered.

"We need to leave. Now. Liam and Dane need out help."

"A little late. Kira already saw them.  We were about to leave. Ready?"

"Always."

The roughness of that one word made the hair on my arms shoot straight up. Zeke gave him a curt nod.

"Les go then ."

The grip he had on my waist tightened and we were gone. The moon and stars burned brightly and I risked glancing down. What I saw hulled my blood. The forest from my dreams rushed by below us. I got the sensation of being watched and looked over Zeke's shoulder to see something fall nog the trees.

"We're being watched and followed," I whispered in his ear. "I'm guessing a Fallen. The moon barely glistened on his wings like Isaac's. They-"

Something from below hurtled into Zeke and it was jarring enough for him to slacken his hold and cause me to slide down his body. A blood curdling shriek escaped my mouth as a sturdy hand grasped my ankle trying to pull me from him. I scratched and kicked at the invisible force and was given a satisfactory crunch followed by the hand releasing me.

"Hold on," Zeke whispered. "We'll be harder to spot in the trees."

"So will they," I murmured.

He landed anyways and began to lead me through. Isaac landed beside us and I gasped at the blood dripping from his temple.

"I'm fine," he assured me, batting my hands away gently. I huffed but let him be.

"Where's the angel?"

He smiled grimly.

"Taken care of."

I shuddered at the emptiness of his voice. It wasn't like him. Zeke nodded his gratitude and we walked on. Hours later we stopped for me to rest.

"We're almost there," Zeke informed me.

"To the lake?"

"Yes."

"We can only afford you a fifteen minute rest," Isaac spoke. "There are animals here who wouldn't take too kindly to us."

I heard the howls and roars from earlier dreams.

"Oh, I already know. Don't need to remind me."

I closed my eyes to get away and was transported to the same, barren room. Liam was unconscious and Dane struggling.

"They are coming? Perfect. We will be waiting. A Guardian? I have not seen one in centuries. Perfect for my collection."

His venomous voice laughed. He strode to Dane and grabbed his hair, yanking his head up.

"You have caused me the most problems. I think I'll kill your friends first and make you watch. You are loyal to death."

After the last word, he slammed his knee into Dane's temple and he slumped onto the ground. A shriek pierced through the vision and when I was completely focused, I realized it was coming from me. I closed my mouth and sprang lithely from the ground. I stalked off, following the sensation that my body was telling me to go. Isaac and Zeke scrambled after me.

"They know we're coming. He's waiting for us. This needs to end."

A fire was building inside of me and rage caused my hands to tremble. The angles were having trouble keeping up with me and I wasn't running. I stopped abruptly and a tearing pain caused a yell of pain to slip from between my lips. I fell to my knees and covered my face with my hands. More pain racked through my body and engulfed me. I threw my head back and arms out. One last wave of pain crashes over me and I heard a tear and two glorious wings expanded on either side of me.
