We leaned in for a kiss and our lips moved in a perfect sync before the moment was interrupted by something hitting my window. We both pulled away and looked to my window, seeing rocks being thrown at it.

I was the first one to walk over to the window, looked down as Isac came up behind me, and gasped.

"Isac, it's Jai!" I yelled excitingly. Outside, on the ground, was Jai stood, jumping and waving with a big smile on his face, throwing rocks at my window. Both me and Isac laughed. I struggled to open the window but couldn't manage it very well since there were plants in the way.

"I'll get them" Isac chuckled and grabbed the two pots, one pink and one white, walking across my room and putting them on my desk.

"Thanks" I said and began trying to open the window but I still couldn't do it.

"Want me to help you with that?" Isac asked smiling as he came back behind me.

I stepped aside. "Yes please" I exhaled with a small giggle and turned to the window showing Jai one finger, meaning "wait a minute".

Isac opened the window effortlessly and shouted out, "Hey mate!"

"Hey what's up?" Jai shouted back.

"Nothing really! Want to come up!?" I peeked my head out from the window. At this point we weren't really afraid of what the neighbours would think, and since it was about 3:30 pm, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for anyone either way.

Jai nodded, "Uh yeah, if that's alright?"

I nodded. "Go to the front door! I'll be down in a minute!" I yelled and got away from the window.

Isac closed the window as I went downstairs. I saw Elma sitting in the kitchen drinking a cup of coffee looking down at the table.

Since she was living with me now, I decided to tell her, "My friend Jai is coming, is that alright?"

She looked up at me and smiled as I was on my way to the front door. "Oh yeah sure, that's fine" She almost looked like she'd been crying. A bit red in the face, puffy eyes.

I smiled at her and opened the front door, only to be met by Jai, of course, but also that familiar police officer behind him, holding the neck of Jai's baseball T-shirt. "Who is this boy?" the officer who was watching me, asked.

I chuckled. "It's my friend" I said and pulled Jai's arm, making the officer let go.

Jai was smiling big at me but didn't say anything until the cop walked off my doorstep and as soon as I closed the door, Jai hugged me hard.

"Hey!" he burst out.

"Hey, Jai!" I laughed as we pulled away from my hug.

We started walking through my living room on the way upstairs, but stopped as we walked past the kitchen where Elma now was sitting with her phone but still held onto the coffee cup with her free hand.

"Elma?" I said, making her look up at me. She smiled. I pulled Jai closer to my side. "This is my friend Jai"

"Hi" Jai said quickly and waved at her.
