Two Lives

The Party

By the time Friday came around my grandma agreed to let my friends sleepover here. Sometimes I feel bad about the attitude I've hade recently, but I just can't control myself some times.
Lilly and Emma rode the bus with me after school so they could help set up for the party. We set up a tent out side and tables with chairs around them while my grandma baked cookies.
Everyone started showing up around 6:30.
It was a big party. Everyone in my grade was there, a ton of other people who I know in other grades to, some of my teachers came, family members, and a tone of other people who I've either only met once or have only heard of them, but they knew my mom.
At first the party was a little boring because all we did was eat and say I to everyone. After about an hour all the kids that were 6th grade and up decided to play manhunt even thought it was still just getting dark. It was so much fun! Everyone had a blast. My yard (house and barn included) is 5 acres long so there are a lot of places to run and hide.
At one point I ran into Henry (my ex boyfriend), but he was on my team so I hid with him behind a rock close to the creek. When I moved my hand it bumped into his and like always he had to make a big deal about it and say,"If you want to get back together you just have to ask you don't have to flirt with me."
"Are you kidding? Do you want me to throw up the cake all over your overpriced shoes,"I answered.
"Come on you and I both know your still in love with me you don't have to pretend any more,"He smirked.
"Aren't you dating Emily Long? Or did she dump you to,"I said rolling my eyes. He is always dating someone new. Even girls from other schools. "Actually I dumped her. She barely noticed I was there. Whenever she and I were hanging out she would be texting her friends the hole time." He responded sounding annoyed.
"Maybe she was texting her friends because she didn't want to get hurt," I say,"She knew you were a player and maybe she didn't want to go through all that." He just nodes. Than we hear two people talking. Alex and Sam. They haven't spotted us yet and I know if they do than they'll make up some stupid story like how Henry and I are getting back together. So I had to come up with something quickly. "I think we have to split up," I start. He nodes again,"I'll go right and you go left. Meet me back at the barn I think Em will be there. Ready... What for it...now!" I whisper. I start running next to the creek. I'm not going to meet him there they'll guess that's were are team will meet, but I'm going to the fort with Em, Lilly, Megan, Hannah.
Hannah and Megan have never be to the fort.
We decided to let them in on the secret since I'm going to leave.
I'm the fist one there since they all had to first go down near the creek, then end up down here.
Out the small window I see 4 shadows and a few flashlights. "Where are we?"Hannah said.
"Yah and what are we doing here?" Megan added. I put my head out the window and answered,"Welcome to the Fort."
