'Shizuo, you look tense.' Celty observed, poking at my arm playfully. I sighed and dropped my cigarette, snuffing it out with my toe.
"I guess. Just a long day at work, Tom gave me tomorrow off because of it." She tilted her head to the side as if in thought.
'Shinra and I were heading to the beach tomorrow, if you and Mioku want to tag along. I'm sure he'll be fine with it.' I stared at the device before giving a smile.
"Why not? Mioku will love it... it will be her first time... on second thought, I think I want to wait to take her..." I sighed and looked away, watching cars drive by. Celty put a hand on my shoulder, giving it a quick pat.
'You want to have Izaya there to see, don't you?' She typed, holding it up for me to look back at. I sighed again, my shoulders slouching a bit.
"Yeah... he had planned to take us a few days after he disappeared, I found it in his planner. I don't want to ruin that, he would love to see her reaction." I gave a small chuckle; he always had found so much fun in watching her reaction to new experiences. She would be quiet, her face blank, before giving squeals of excitement and wrapping us both in hugs, kisses, and repeated 'thank you's.
'I guess I understand, and don't worry! He's sure to show up soon, I can feel it.' She pumped her fist in a guts pose. If she had a head, I was sure she would be smiling right now.
"Ha... feel it? You sound like a gutsy heroine from one of Mioku's manga." I chuckled, earning a light smack on the arm.
'I can! See, right here? I feel it right there, feel!' Celty seemed to be laughing as she pointed to her elbow. I gave it a poke, tilting my head as Shinra would when inspecting his patients.
"Huh, nope. Don't feel notin'. Although," I pushed my glasses up and and pointed my index finger upwards, just like Shinra. "I believe that this may be a sign of insanity. Why don't I go read off a paper and see if you got shot in the knee." Celty's shoulders heaved with laughter as she repeatedly slapped my knee, trying to calm herself.
'Shot in the knee? Where did that come from, doc? Thought I was mad, eh?' I couldn't help myself and laughed as well. 'Ah! That reminds me of that time when you got shot, and, and you thought you slipped!' I gave a gasp at this, laughing harder now.
"I totally forgot about that! God, I was such a cheeky idiot then."
'Still are!' I gave her a look, an akward tension filling the air. 'Just kidding, Shizuo. Just kidding!' It was silent for a moment, before we both burst out laughing again.
