Chapter 2: The Beasts of Ranial Forest

Tomoe quickly brought Moonlit Reaper close to her, running towards the large monster. "Moonlit Falcon, aim, fire!" Ren yelled, two bullets piercing the large beast. "Bullseye!" Tomoe yelled, inflicting a large wound on the best. Chiharu quickly climbed onto the beast. "Here we go! Moonlit Demolisher!" The first-year yelled, slamming the beast on it's head. "Ready? Let's go!" Pazu yelled, grabbing his spear. In a rage, the monster attacked Tomoe, it's claw missing her left eye by a mere inch. "Tomoe! You're going down, Shadow Beast! Moonlit Impaler!" Pazu stabbed the large creature. "Moonlit Decapitator!" Akaji yelled, his blade slicing through it's stomach, the large beast disappearing into shadows.
"Yeah!" Tomoe yelled, smiling at the others. "Let us move forth." Ren replied coldly, leading the group. "That was freaking cool!" T.B. smiled, fixing a few strands of blue hair that dangled in her violet eyes. Tomoe quickly ran up to Ren. "Akamuji, that was amazing!" She smiled. "How is your eye, Akashi? You have to be more careful, or you could easily cut it out. That monster barely missed. Next time, it may not be a miss." Ren simply replied. "I shot mine out. It was a living hell. Pain is the price it takes to protect others." Ren looked down at her pistols. "Come on. We still have a long way until we're done. This may take years. We may even die." The female stated coldy, fixing her dark, violet hair. "Why us..?" Akaji muttered. "What?! You signed up to get into this god damn school. You filled out a contract. You basically sold your soul. You agreed to die if something were to happen. You may be a 3-star, but you have to be mature." She glared, her red eye interlocking with one of the male's shining blue ones. A chill sent up his spine. "Yes ma'am.." He said under his breath, quivering with fear. "Hey!" A male's voice shouted. "Saboru!" Tomoe yelled, smiling and waving to catch his attention. He smiled, slipping on his brass knuckles. "You doing okay, Akashi?" He asked. "Yeah. I can't complain much." Tomoe replied. "Good luck. I need to go back to my class. I'll see you later." He winked, running back by the others. "Tch..." A male named Will, grumbled. "What's your problem, Saito?" She asked, tilting her head. "This god damn forest is making me uncomfortable." He seized his rapier from its sheath, frowning. "You're not the only one." Hanako replied. "Yeah.. It's eerie..." Haruka nodded. "Shadow Beast! Behind you!"  Rei yelled, activating her spinners. "T-Tch...! Moonlit Elegance!" Will ran towards the monster, rapier in hand. "Remember their weakness point..." He aimed for the heart. Akaji ran forward. "Go! Ill cover you!" He yelled. "Right!" Will responded, jumping up to attack the beast, making eye contact with its piercing red eyes. He lost focus, getting caught by the creature. "AAAAA!!! Help me!" He shouted, dropping his rapier on the ground, his face paling. "Will!" Pazu tossed his spear, hitting the beast in the eye, making it drop the blonde. Ren caught him, sighing. "Are you alright, Will?" The female sighed, handing him his rapier. "Yes, thank you, Akamuji." He smiled, swiping his sword back into his sheath. "For a two-star, you're quite skilled. You transferred into our class a while ago, correct? You used to go to the Hajikame Combat Academy." Ren replied, nodding. "That's right.. I transferred here because the classes were far too easy. Even the teachers said I was too above the average combat level, so they suggested I go to a school of a higher rank." Will replied. "Interesting. I'll keep an eye on you." Ren walked forward. "This forest is one of the most dangerous in the world. As we progress through it, I highly suggest you grow stronger. Have you heard the story of the Askame Warrior? A man of great strength transformed into a great warrior. His descendant is know to be around our ages, 13-18. That may as well be one of us. That is why you must grow to be strong. Now let's go, everyone. We still have a long journey ahead." Ren nodded. "If it comes to the point that you'd rather die, then do not hesitate so say anything. Id rather have one of us to put you out of your misery than to keep you suffering. As for if you're injured and you must get a limb amputated.." She sighed. "We have Maka to assist.." A blonde stood up. She wore a three-star uniform with a bow slung over her shoulder. "I am Maka Sei! A three star in Sunlit Class C to assist your medical needs!" She yelled, smiling. She was a happy go-lucky girl who took mostly medical classes. "Shadow Beast!" The large monster grabbed Maka by her hair, yanking her up. "AHHH! AHHHH!" She cried out, Ren firing her pistols at the beast. "HELP ME! NOW!" Maka screamed, Tomoe slicing the creature, Maka jumping down and shooting the monster with her bow and arrows. "Oh my god..." The blonde wiped her eyes, the others staring at each other. "Come on. We.. We have no time to dawdle and complain." Ren frowned, biting her bottom lip tightly. "Let us progress."
