"Let's go on Cars!" Hayes exclaims as we enter Adventureland.
He grabs my hand, and he bolts forward towards the Cars ride. I think my arm is about to fall off.
He's such a boy.
"Slow down, I'm gonna die!" I say, trying to get his attention.
Hayes stops in his tracks, "If we don't hurry we're gonna be waiting forever."
"I can't run as fast as you," I shrug.
He then hunches forwards, looking at me over his shoulder, "Get on."
I look from his eyes to his back. He wants to... give me a piggyback ride?
He can definitely tell my unsureness because he nods his head slowly.
I sigh, "I can walk, you know."
"We aren't walking, get on."
Without anymore question, I jump onto his back. Hayes holds my thighs. He looks over at me with a sly smile.
"Ready?" He asks and winks at me.
"I guess," I say wearily.
Hayes then full on sprints off with me on his back. He doesn't stop running until we get to the ride "Radiator Springs Racers".
We stand at a post that says one hour until ride.
"We're gonna be waiting here for an hour?" I look at him.
"We would've gotten here faster if you would've ran in the first place," Hayes shrugs.
"Ouch," I shake my head.
As Hayes and me wait, we get to know each other a little better. He asks me about my family. I tell him all about my mom and how she's doing in Wisconsin. I don't really hear from her that often, she's pretty busy with her restaurant. That's the main reason she doesn't come out to visit. It feels good to talk to him about stuff. The only other person I ever really talk to is Brooke.
Hayes later shows me some pictures of his friends and family back in North Carolina. North Carolina is so far from here. It's horrible for me to say, but I hope he stays out here for a while. Even if I'm in San Diego, Los Angeles isn't too far of a drive.
"Wait wait," I say to Hayes when he's continuously scrolling through his camera roll.
"What?" Hayes stops and looks at me.
His blue eyes are so gorgeous. I wish I could get lost in them forever.
"Scroll back," I tell him.
Hayes fulfills my request, and he scrolls back.
"Is that your sister?" I ask, peering down at a picture of him and a little girl with light blonde hair.
It has to be one of the cutest pictures I've ever seen. The girl is smiling widely at the camera. Hayes is also smiling, which makes the picture even better.
Hayes nods, "Yep, her name is Skylyn."
He scrolls through his pictures a little more, and he ends up at a picture of him sleeping and Skylyn in the car. Skylyn's head is resting on his shoulder. It is easy to tell that she's awake. Aww.
"She's so cute!" I exclaim, grinning at the picture.
"Not as cute as you," Hayes puts a finger under my chin and lifts it up, so our eyes meet.
"Hayes! That's mean," I scowl at him.
He just laughs, "I'm just telling the truth."
I shake my head. He can't even compare us.
Hayes tells me more about his family until we finally get on the ride, around an hour and forty five minutes later.
Hayes gets all excited, he almost looks like a little kid the way he grins. I smile and go along with the ride because I know it makes him happy.
If I must admit myself, the ride is really cool. It seems as if we really are in Radiator Springs. Plus, we got to race another group at the end and we totally won.
As we get off of the ride, Hayes puts his arm around me, and he never really takes it off.
"Don't you think this is kinda public?" I question him.
Girls are already looking at me weird. I mean, I know I'm semi-famous for Sunbabes, but everyone loves Hayes. The last thing I need to worry about is getting hate.
"Nope. I want people to know I'm here with you, that we're here together," Hayes grins at me, pulling me closer to him.
I roll my eyes and pretend not to like it. He sure knows what he's doing.
Hayes and I go on almost all of the rides at Adventureland, even some of the little kid ones. He gets noticed a lot, though.
When we finish lunch, we decide to go to the actual Disneyland.
"Wow, look at me. I'm at Disneyland with the Kate from Sunbabes! I'm so cool!" Hayes gloats, intertwining our fingers so we're now holding hands.
"Wow, look at me! I'm at Disneyland with Hayes Grier. I'm holding hands with him!" I exclaim laughing.
Hayes looks down at me as we walk. Our height difference, like me and most people, is pretty extreme. He has a slight smile on his face, and a glimmer in his eyes I can't quite explain.
"Let's go take a picture in front of the Disney castle!" Hayes breaks our eye contact as he pulls me forward.
Only around a minute later we arrive at the castle. There's a guy there taking pictures that we can buy. It's probably not even worth it.
For the picture, Hayes dips me down. I'm looking up at him smiling and at the last second he starts to lean in.
Before I can comprehend what's happening, Hayes's lips are on mine. Butterflies explode in my stomach. I've never felt this way kissing anyone before.
The kiss is over before I know it, and I look up at Hayes shaking my head. He's smiling. Looking at him smile makes it almost impossible not to smile too.
"I can't believe you did that!" I exclaim.
"Why? I thought it was pretty great," He beams at me.
"Would you two like to see the picture?" The man behind the camera asks us.
Hayes nods.
The man shows us the picture. It's actually really cute. Too bad it can't ever go anywhere. Our fans cannot find out about this.
"How much?" Hayes asks, digging in his pocket.
"Ten dollars," The man replies.
"No way!" I pull Hayes away.
"I wanted to buy that!" Hayes frowns.
"Oh come on, we can take one for free later," I watch his frown turn into a smug look as we continue on through Disneyland.
