“Ladies first,” he gestured in front of himself to the stairs leading to the first floor.

“You’re such a gentleman,” I smiled into his eyes and walked down the stairs in my sweats and tank top. He followed closely behind once in a while “accidently” hitting my arse with his knees.

We got downstairs and I smiled at my Mum. “Thanks,” I mouthed and she just nodded. She knew.

“Like I was saying,” she stared at both of us, “me and your Dad were thinking of going for a picnic, just the four of us, tomorrow. Maybe to that park down the street, yeah?”

Niall spoke up, “I don’t want to ruin this for you guys but if we’re going to go for a picnic the fans are going to see me.”

“You can dress up! They won’t notice you if you’re in a costume.” He looked at me and laughed, “hey, you can be the clown the comes to entertain me on my birthday.” I winked.

My Mum looked at Niall expectantly, she was wide-eyed and smiling like she thought it was a wonderful idea.

“Yeah, Carson not to burst this little fantasy but the fans are crazy. I’m almost 100% positive they have a tracking system. When one sees me, they all come running.

“Get security guards,” my Dad just shrugged it off like security guards are an everyday occurrence to him.

“Money,” Niall whispered and looked to the floor. I was astounded.

“Niall, you’re in the biggest boy band in the world. Money shouldn’t be a problem.” I looked at him.

“How about we go to a private beach?” He glanced at my Mum and Dad, “you’d like that right; a nice mini vacation. It’s like 20 miles away.” He smiled.

I loved beaches, used to at least. When I could wear bathing suits and not be insecure about my scars.

“Only under one condition,” my Dad paused and looked over at us from the couch, “is there a bar?”

Niall had gone to his flat early; round 6:00pm. I sat with my parents and spoke about school, it was a rough night but I could tell they cared. I told them I didn’t want to go anymore and my Mum agreed to get me a tutor and she would help with home schooling.

They both kissed me on the head and I went to bed and cuddled myself into my duvet. It took me a while to go to bed, my head was flooded with my past and I felt like shit. I wanted to burn. I didn’t want them to walk in though, sometimes they check on me. I pulled out my phone and set it for 3:00am. Soon enough I drifted off.

My alarm woke me up at 3:00 on the dot. I smiled and opened my bedside drawer and lifted the bottom. There was a hidden compartment. I kept 2 lighters in it. I took one out and lit it. I looked at it, observed it, ran my hand through the fire a couple of times. I wanted to burn myself, but I couldn’t.

I watched the flame burn and I felt the heat radiate. I put my arm above the fire. I slowly inched it forward bit by bit and I felt the flame against my skin. My phone beeped. I quickly put out the flame and pulled away my arm; there was no mark.
