Babies

A month passed by smoothly. Birdie had forgiven Jordan and he had proposed to her. She had at first come running to me without giving him an answer but then I sent her back and she said yes.
Marie was holding on, her son was healthy and thriving. Marie was sometimes back to her old self but sometimes there could be a whole day where we wouldn't see her as she just kept in her bedroom with her child.
Marianna was overjoyed to be pregnant and it really worked for her, her skin was glowing and she hadn't experienced any morning sickness at all which I was envious about.
My mother and father had been teaching Axton and I anything and everything there was to know about werewolves and what special abilities we had, especially us royals. I mastered changing my appearance in human form but I was too pregnant to try it in wolf form.
Speaking of being pregnant, today was the day. I hadn't felt any contractions yet but I knew I would have my children today. Everybody else seemed to sense something since Axton would never be farther than arms length away and random pack members came up to the castle just to say hello to me or offer me some sort of baby gift. The ultrasound equipment typically used was too weak to be able to tell us the genders and that was driving Axton mad.
  Sure enough, at exactly 11:15am I felt my first contraction and my water broke. "Axton." I said very calmly as I rubbed my belly, it wasn't all that painful but I knew they were going to get much much worse.
  "Yes love?" He poked his head out from behind the magazine he had been reading next to me.
  "Don't freak out but my water just broke." I wanted to laugh at his ghostly pale face but instead decided to be the calm one. "You might want to help me up oh wonderful mate."
  "Right, yeah, uhhhh. Let's take you to the doctor yeah?" He was mumbling under his breath and I just decided to let him work it out in his head.
   6 hours later and I was screaming bloody murder. This was the most painful thing I had ever experienced in my entire life. "AXTON WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!?" I cried. He had been holding my hand for the past 2 hours once the contractions got incredibly painful. I'm fairly sure I had broken his hand in multiple places.
"Here's your first baby Luna!" The doctors announcement was almost drowned out by the wailing of the most beautiful baby girl on Earth. He placed her in my arms and the pain was all worth it. The little patch of thick hair on her head was red like her mothers.
"Open your eyes for us sweetie." I cooed and she immediately stopped screaming and waving her tiny little fists and opened her previously tightly shut eyes. "She's got your eyes." I sniffled and handed her to Axton before the pain of her sibling trying to enter the world hit me full force.
  Another 20 minutes and all of my energy later we had a son. After he was cleaned off and his eyes opened at my pleading, he had his daddy's jet black hair but the little ones hair was a mess of curls and his eyes were baby blue like his mother.
  "They're beautiful." I had never cried so much in my entire life. Just looking at their faces I saw my future, teaching them how to control their wolves, watching them go to their first day of school, finding their mates. "Axton, do you think they will have to drink blood?"
"I think they are half and half since they were conceived when I was still a full vampire. I have no idea love." He couldn't keep his eyes off of our daughter.
"We have to decide on their names." I gave him a sly smile and he narrowed his eyes. " Athena and Landon."
  "You picked one of my names," his eyes filled with tears as he looked between his mate and his children.
"That I did, see I can be reasonable you just can't count on it." I winked at him before carefully sitting up and swinging my legs off the edge of the hospital bed.
"Should you be moving?" Axton's face was laced with worry.
"I am all healed." I reassured him by patting his cheek. "I am going to get some real clothes on then we can let the adoring fans in."
I got changed into a simple and plain black dress that went to my knees and walked through the door that joined the hospital room with a private visiting room carrying my children.
"Oh my god they are the cutest things I have ever seen!" Birdie squealed and Landon fussed at the noise. "Sorry. They are so cute!" She whispered this time.
"Everybody, meet Landon and Athena." I smiled at my parents who both had tears freely flowing down their faces. Axton came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
The babies were passed around from person to person for about and hour before they got hungry and tired. We tried to take them back to our bedroom but my father stopped us.
"I understand that they aren't the happiest little pups at the moment but we have to show them to the pack, it is custom." He gave me a pleading smile, telling me that he wouldn't force me to do it but he would appreciate it. We had kept it from the general pack that I was having twins so they would be excited.
After we had calmed the the twins enough that they would sit nicely while we introduced them my mother and father led us to the balcony we had been crowned on. The second they came into view the crowd silenced.
"May I present to you, your next Princess and prince!" The king boomed as Axton and I stepped forward with one baby each. The crowd screamed and cheered and Athena immediately let loose a cry of her own that only stopped when I put my finger in her mouth.
"I would like you all to meet our first born, Princess Athena and her brother Landon." Pride oozed from my voice as the crowd was completely ensnared by the newest royals. Then Landon sneezed and the entire pack started to laugh even though the tiny mans sneeze was barely audible. These children would be loved beyond measure.
