Michael's POV
_________

(December 25, 2015)

Pacing around my room nervously, my hands started to shake as I looked at the letter I stayed up all night to write. My eyes were dreary and felt heavy from my lack of sleep but it was well worth it because today I finally get to let everything out to Vivienne. I was excited and happy of course but my anxiousness overlaid those good feelings, making me jittery and a big mess of emotions.

**Flashback**

"Goodnight Michael. Don't stay up too late, you've got quite a busy day tomorrow." My mom chuckled from my doorway, blowing me a kiss and sending me a playful wink - obviously hinting towards ending my plan tomorrow - before she walked all the way out, closing the door behind her.

Once I heard her bedroom door shut downstairs, I continued on with what I was doing before she interrupted me; brainstorming and writing this letter over and over, trying to make it the best it could possibly be.

I realized over dinner that just randomly bringing up my plan and blurting it out to her without any notice of some sort would just scare her away, so I thought over ways I could win her heart along with letting her in on what I've been doing this whole year.

While everyone else was enjoying their food, I was zoned out and thinking about the best thing to do for her, and by the end of the dinner I picked a pretty good way; to write her a letter explaining and easing everything on her.

A trash can was placed beside my mattress, crumpled up pieces of paper filling it to the rim as well as flooding out onto the floor surrounding it. A pretty decent amount of pens and pencils laying beside me, half of them running out of inc and lead, now becoming useless to me.

I thought about each word that I printed across the white sheet, skimming and scamming over the sentences continuously to make sure that spelled each word right, that I didn't forget or write a word down twice, double-checking that each sentence actually made sense as it's being read out altogether.

I wanted everything to be absolutely perfect. I've taken so much time out of my year - too much time out of my year - to ruin what I've almost successfully completed.

This plan can't fail - it won't fail - and especially over a letter that shouldn't be taking me as long as it is to write and edit out. It just can't.

**End Of Flashback**

"I'm going over to Vivienne's house now mom." I jogged down the stairs, her meeting me at the bottom. "Merry Christmas and thank you for that delicious breakfast earlier."

"That's fine! And you're welcome and Merry Christmas to you too." She answered my questions all in one sentence, noticing that I wasn't really in the mood to hang around and have a normal conversation with her at the moment.

She didn't say anything else, she just stood quietly and waited for me to make the next move. And because I seriously want to get to Viv's house as soon as possible, I leaned forwards and gave her a fast and almost nonexistent hug before hustling to the front door. I was about to close the door when I heard my mother shout out; "Good luck with Vivienne, Michael!"

"Thank you!" I yelled back, shutting the door behind me as I hurried down the driveway and to my old car - far too cold outside to walk all the way to her place.
