Hi guys. I'm so so so sorry for the very very long wait. I've honestly had a bit of writers block with this chapter. Ive had it half finished for the past 2 years and whenever I went back to it, nothing really came to mind to be honest. I guess it was just the stress of a levels and then my first year of uni to be honest considering now that I'm completely free for 3 months I've miraculously had a breakthrough. Still so very sorry for making you wait so long. I feel so bad :( Ill try to update more often during my holidays I promise.

Also if I've made any mistake that contradicts anything I've mentioned before, pls do mention it. It has been a while after all.

And another thing as I go through the story I might make a couple changes that I will later go on to change from the start because as Damon will be taking her to Diagon Alley before every year, he would have already met many of her friends, and Lucius and Draco so I need to see where the story takes me, and how involved I make Damon, cause I don't want it to be too much but it will be more than I made it seem like already.

Anyway sorry again for the long wait. Hope you enjoy :)

Severus Snape stepped out of the shadows at the end of a long, winding country lane, the soles of his shoes crunching lightly against the gravel. Looming ahead were the tall, wrought-iron gates of an ostentatiously large estate, its polished surface gleaming even under the muted grey sky. He stopped a few paces away, as his gaze swept over the sprawling grounds and the towering mansion beyond.

His lip curled slightly.

"Of course she lives in a mansion," he drawled, voice thick with derision.

"What's that supposed to mean?" James asked, raising an eyebrow at Snape, but the man in question said nothing. Before James could press further Jade gave him a look that reminded him eerily of her mother and he shut up. Those green eyes could really make him do anything.

With a flick of his wrist, he drew his wand and gave a lazy, practiced wave toward the gate.

For half a second, nothing happened, then the air rippled. A pulse of magic burst outward from the metal like a shockwave, slamming into him with enough force to lift him off his feet and hurl him backward several yards.

He hit the gravel with a graceless thud, landing flat on his back as his robes flared around him like spilled ink, the wind knocked from his lungs.

"Sorry about that, Sev," Lily said with a wince. The wards were her handiwork, after all.

"It's fine Lils," Severus said after a moment of hesitation, still not knowing how to talk to her after all these years.

"I'm not," James grumbled and Lily promptly hit him over the head, giving him a pointed look.

"James, maybe consider that not everything needs to be said aloud. You aren't a child anymore."

James rubbed the spot where Lily had smacked him, shooting her a wry grin. "Point taken lily flower."

Lily rolled her eyes but didn't deny the small smile tugging at her lips.

Jade smiled at seeing her parents dynamic. Yes, she'd seen glimpses of this through the memories her uncles and godfather shared in the Pensieve, but it was a whole different thing to see them in person. These were memories she'd keep close to her heart because she knew, from what Death said, that they would eventually come to an end.

He sat up stiffly and picked himself up with a wince before straightening his collar with sharp irritable movements, and waving his wand to rid the dust from his coat. He then looked up to cast a withering look at the towering gates and the palatial mansion beyond, his expression a mixture of resignation and contempt.
