Way to Edward's Home

On the train, I sit in front of Edward, casually smiling at him. He smiles back as we wait for the train to start moving. There are still a few things that I don't quite understand... Like what the hell is Major Armstrong doing here?

"It's for protection," Hughes says, now that he's come to see us off. "Ed, you're in no condition to fight."

"Children can be so stubborn," Armstrong says.

"I'm not a child!" Edward yells. "Anyway, did you make sure Al made it on board?"

"Yes," Armstrong says. "I thought he would get lonely without the sheep."

"Sheep?" Edward says. "DAMMIT, MY BROTHER ISN'T SOME KIND OF FARM ANIMAL!"

I giggle, feeling happy to see Edward be close to his usual self. I hate to see him so depressed.

And I wonder if I was too obvious about my feelings the other day...

The train starts to move and Hughes salutes us before he says goodbye. As the train advances through several landscapes, Edward tells me a bit about what his hometown is like, and about the people he met there. They all sound nice and helpful, and Edward reaally looks like he's looking forward to seeing them again.

I also have the opportunity to see Edward while he sleeps. HE'S TOO CUTE! I also fall asleep too, and when we wake up the next day, the train is stopped at a station. Before any of us can say anything, Armstrong violently looks out the window.

"Dr. Marco?" he says as someone walks past. "Is that you? It's me, Alexander Louis Armstrong, from Central!"

The guy outside looks at Armstrong for a split second and then runs away.

"Who is that guy?" I ask.

"A talented State Alchemist," Armstrong replies. "He was doing some important research, but then left after the Ishvalin civil war."

Edward gets up. "Let's go. That guy could know something useful about Biological Alchemy."

We go get Alphonse and get down from the train, then we head into the nice-looking town. We ask a lot of people if they could help us locate the doctor (and by the way, Armstrong's drawing of him is really good) and they give us some instructions that eventually lead us to a humble home, and they also mentioned how he could incredibly heal almost anyone. Armstrong knocks the door and the Doctor looks out through a small hole. He shoots a gun; Edward is fast enough to dodge the bullet. Before falling down, I manage to catch Edward and hang on to him.

That bastard! I think. I don't trust him one bit.

He questions us what we're doing there, but after Armstrong explains, he hesitantly lets us in.

He introduces himself and takes us to a table. I sit on a chair and Edward stands behind me, with his hand rested on the chair. Alphonse and Armstrong sit on the opposite side of the table.

"So you changed your name?" Armstrong inquires. "Why would you do that, and why did you just leave all of a sudden?"

"I couldn't continue researching that thing," says the doctor.

"What thing is that?" Edward asks.

"It killed so many people during the war..." the doctor answers. "All of that power ended up being harmful... a Philosopher's Stone."

Edward, Al, and I gasp at the same time.

"Do you have it?" Edward asks immediately.

The doctor takes out a red liquid and places it on the table.
